L'OR EspressO (Nespresso Compatible Pods) - Free 'Bodum' Glasses with Purchase of 3 Packs

700

This promo has been running for a couple of weeks but I have only just seen it.
Buy 3 packs of L'OR Nespresso Compatible pods, available at Coles/Woolworths/IGA etc and claim 2x Bodum Pavina coffee glasses (Glass double wall 250mL)

At the moment the pods are on special at Coles for $4.75 each which makes the pods 47.5c each (which is cheap for Nespresso compatible pods anyway)

Buy 3 packs for under $15 and claim some Bodum glasses worth ~$25
(Glasses appear to be the same as these - http://www.kitchenwaredirect.com.au/Coffee-Tea/Cups-Mugs/Bod…)

Expires in June though with only ~350/3000 claims remaining it is likely to end sooner than that.
Limit of 2 claims per household so for under $30 I grabbed myself 60 pods to try and 4 free Bodum glasses :)

I missed a recent Aldi bargain for similar glasses so these will make a cheap addition to the recent Nespresso Pixie 'Good Guys' deal that was posted last month.

    • couldnt' see anything from a search so you might want to post a link to the previous deal for others to find then..

      • Hi,OP.It is Bodum Pavina,NOT Bodum Bavina:)

        • thanks… I was sure I copy/pasted that from the l'or website but obviously not ;)

Sorry, I meant I typed something that was already on the description

  • bummer. just bought 3 boxes last wednesday. where did i put the receipt?

  • Currently 20% off at Coles ($4.75 ea.)

  • Awesome!! Thanks muchly OP!! Been out to grab some and back home and claimed. Wasn't going to chance waiting until tomorrow morning!

I did the same thing… saw it on whirlpool i think so went for a drive to the shops just for these then posted it here ;)

  • Can anyone address the concerns with using plastic as opposed to aluminium for the pods?

    • +1

I have used these pods in my DeLonghi Pixie machine and they taste pretty good, maybe not quite as good as the Nespresso original pods, but close. I have noticed that the machine seems to be noisier when using these pods, as if it is pushing harder to get the water through, and I think it might be due to the plastic cover on the pods (instead of aluminium on the Nespresso pods). I am hoping it is not causing damage to my machine…but the 2yr warranty gives me some peace of mind.

  • Saw it the other day. Not sure if the quality of the glasses are worth the hassle. You have to 'claim' it …

    Thanks for the post though

they are good quality glasses, nice looking but a bit fragile! i bought 6+2 from peters of kensington a few months ago for $60-65 and 3 are already broken. i also got 4 for $9 (homemaker brand)from kmart http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/93098 and i love them cause they are a bit bigger than Bodum, cost 3-4 times less and the glass appears to be stronger(thicker?). I also bought 2 tall expressi double-glasses from Aldi when they were on special a few weeks ago. Overall, Bodum have the best looks but they are more fragile than the other 2 brands i use daily. They definitely worth the hassle claiming them

Well, I have tried several double wall glasses and so far the Bodum ones are the best. Others will develop over time moisture in between the walls which is impossible to get rid off. The Bodum ones are still like new after 4 years now? The others were gone after a year. Others may have different view, but this is my experience. But the Aldi deal was good as well and i got few big ones for $9 as well :-)

      • Thanks a lot gentlemen

  • Get in and claim quick guys…there was nearly 800 left yesterday arvo…just over 300 now:

  • Do we get a confirmation email after redeeming?

    • I didn't get one.

    • I didnt.
The final page mentions receiving one if our claim is 'invalid' within 5 days though (from memory)

  • ?

  • Same here… T & C say we should get an email ?

My wife bought these last week but when I saw it here I was on to claiming quick smart!

  • Thanks. 250 remaining.

Wasy going to post this today… I see its been ozbargained… explains why it went from 600 yesterday to less than 200 this morning as opposed to losing only 2400 in its first 2 weeks lol

These pods are rubbish.. cant even do a ristretto with any of these.. barely any crema and tastes burnt when doing a short cup (25ml to 40ml).

May as well get this deal for the cups since their valued at $25 and gift the 3 boxes of capsules instead. The Aldi Expressi pods (specifically the Amalfi and Torino) are orders of magnitude better than any of the espresso range from L'Or.

Bought 3 (1 each) of the sublime range today to see if they are any better

    • I've only tried the Sontuoso 'purple' L'OR pods but didnt find them too bad.. (though I'm no coffee connoisseur)

      • Please try this for me (or you) then…

Goto a decent cafe and ask for these…

If you drink short/espresso's: "Double Shot Ristretto"

If you drink milked coffee.. ie.. "Latte's": "Double shot Ristretto Picollo"

There are 3 parts to a coffee when coming out of a machine… The crema, acidy coffee water, and then the bitter. A "ristretto" properly done will only give you the smooth flavour and texture of the crema as the barista will stop it early… hence 1 normal shot will only give you half a shot of crema. This is why you get a ristretto as a double shot.

However, I've noticed when ordering a "Double shot Ristretto Picollo", MOST inexperienced baristas will get it wrong and give you a double milk picollo which is essentially just a latte with half a shot of coffee..

        • Also… like wine there is a very specific way to taste for coffee to get to the real flavour.

          1) order a Ristretto
          2) make sure its warm.. not hot
          3) slurp it
          4) gauge the after taste in your mouth
          5) you will taste the flavour and texture straight away.. and you will know if it is burned

This is when you know coffee or a barista is crap. And a good cafe will always tune their machine everyday for the climate

        • can you find me a cafe that tunes their machine everyday here in Australia ?
i've tried L'OR pods and they are not that bad actually. All you have to do is remember that it's a pod coffee and not a coffee from a daily-calibrated-machine-good-cafe! BTW, L'OR pods(and nespresso, expressi etc) will always taste better than 99% of the barista's coffee here in Australia. :)

        • I can name you a couple that do this and should do this…

          • Zoe's cafe on miller st North Sydney
          • The one inside northpoint plaza, north sydney (owner is overly proud of his coffee though)
          • My mates one on goulburn st surry hills across from police building (bean temple)
          • My mates dads coffee shop on 732 harris st who do well over 130Kg of Toby's Estate weekly…
          • When I had one with a mate on harris st at pyrmont (Stars on the run)
          • The previous owners of Stars on the run who now own Papardelle restaurant in haberfield

Every cafe i went to in Italy do this.. and i'm pretty sure Columbia as every supplier i'd spoken to has recommended it.

I'm pretty sure the awesome cafe's in Melbourne do this

Pretty much any cafe that sells Toby's Estate or Campos or La Hacienda coffee… as its part of being trained by them on how to serve their coffee.. not sure if Campos still do this…

In saying that.. now i'm in Brissy i don't know anyone that does this here or even know how to make a proper ristretto = sad face!

    • It's all subjective…L'OR were rated higher than Nespresso in a recent Choice blind taste test:

      http://www.choice.com.au/reviews-and-tests/food-and-health/f…

      http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2013/04/nespresso-coffee-overpr…

      • reviews are subjective though and as with any product you have to try it yourself as everyone has a different palate.

L'Or is mainly available at major supermarkets right next to instant/freeze dried coffee… these double blind tests are going to be mostly from people who have switched from the rubbish coffee into the nespresso system thinking its God's gift to mankind.

What I will say is, as per my post above.. thats how one should taste coffee and decide if it is right for them.

So far, I haven't found a decent commercial grind for the nespresso, but then im not expecting these to taste cafe quality but merely something to get a decent tasting hit in between real coffees to reduce the expense. The Aldi one my mrs got me to use at my desk at work is A LOT better than these L'Or and at 37c a pod, they reduce my daily coffee expense greatly. My 9 boxes of L'Or simply serve as a means for my free Bodum glasses lol.

      • But thanks for the link.. reading the george cloonet one made me realise something…

I'm going to try the L'or again and cut it even shorter and use 2 pods instead to see if i can at least get rid of the burned taste and to get more crema.

And i agree with that though.. because the best pod i've ever put in the machine so far was a no name columbian single origin brand from ebay of all places

Do the Aldi pods work with the Nespresso machine?

    • No

  • 163 left.The stock won't last long.

  • 141 left now! I did not get an email confirmation either. When I clicked "preview" of the uploaded scan image, I received an error page, so I just "Submit".

  • Thanks OP!
They're going quick, just ran out to Coles to pick some up and rush home before they're all gone!

  • Thanks op. I have claimed twice. It is not many left.

  • I started my claim there were 72 left.
20 minutes later after taking pic of receipt and submitting claim only 52 Left!

OP… you left out some important info about Claiming glasses.
"Limit 1 claim per transaction/receipt and 2 claims per household"

You need 2 recepts to clain 2 set of glasses!

    • Apologies for that.
That was a key to claiming two sets as I went through the self service area and put each lot of 3 through as separate transactions

      • -3

whooooh lost 1 set of glasses now have to return 3 packs :(

  • Ozbargained!!

  • All gone!

  • Bugger. Was going out to buy some today and these glasses would have been nice!

  • The power of ozbargain strikes again.

I got in at #40 or so. Last night it was 163 left, then 90 this morning, and it rapidly went down to 60 within half an hour, and an hour later they were all gone.

I also went to K-Mart and got some of the $9 4xdouble wall latte glasses for comparison. They don't have the valve on the bottom that the Bodum ones do, but otherwise they seem okay so far - time will tell.

    • -1

"90 this morning, and it rapidly went down to 60 within half an hour, and an hour later they were all gone".

You could have just said they were going at a rate of 1 set per minute. This rate was consistent all morning.

  • sign went to buy them today and try to redeem and found out it's all claimed…way too fast

  • I bought these a couple of weeks ago. Didn't like them at all. Worst part is that it left a bunch of coffee granules at the bottom of the cup - nasty surprise included with your last sip.

  • Does this fit the nescafe dolce gusto machine from coles?

    • No, these pods are smaller than the dolce gusto pods.

  • i just bought a dolce gusto. Theres no other compatible pods?

  • I love the banner on the page now, "Due to unforeseen popularity of this promotion, we have now exhausted all stock of the Bodum Pavina 0.25l glasses…" Yup, you were officially ozbargained!

  • Still no email confirmation for my order?

    • no,scam company???

  • +2

One of the guys on Whirlpool got their glasses today :)

    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2017975&p…

    • Excellent, excitement levels building!

    • Great news!!

  • OK.. Bodum glasses aside…. did anyone actually enjoy the taste of any of this coffee?? These have to be really sht or the batch at my local Coles is sht… they all taste burnt as per the reviews online… even if i decide to do a posh extract and only do about 15ml… and i've got every single variant!

    • I quite liked the decaf.

  • +1

Received my two sets this morning.

    • me too

    • Best check them all thoroughly guys, I have one with damage. Am guessing I'll have to follow up with Bodum as opposed to L'OR Espresso.

      • A+ to Bodum for their customer service! Spoke to a rep from the Bodum office in SYD. Sent over two pics and as a result they are sending out replacements to arrive next week. Fantastic service!

  • i received my glasses today. yay

  • Mine also arrived today. Thanks

  • Received mine today. Thanks OP.
