TinyDeal have trouble with maths on their promotional email

Received an email from Tinydeal.

"To encourage and fuel your love for your special parents, we have selected four hottest categories and made their already low prices even more irresistible by offering you total 23% off coupons…"

ooh, 23% off, lets go through the vouchers.

"6% off health equipment
5% off Car accessories
6% off mens T-shirts
6% off mens watches

Total 23% off"

Ummm, no that's still a little less than 6% off those items. There ain't no 26% anywhere here. Someone has no idea how percentages work. Surely no one is that mathematically challenged. Complete false advertising. Dirty tactics hoping there customer base is too stupid to notice?

  • Frickin' Percentages.

    How do they work?

What 26%? You must be memory challenged.

I did that on purpose Masternoob for the sake of irony…..no not really. Obviously someone is that stupid, namely me :-(

      • There's no right or wrong answer here…

  • Percentages… do not add in that way there is a big difference between proportion and average

    • Yeah, they clearly forgot to carry a one somewhere.

    • There isn't even 23% off. Heck why don't they make up 100% off from various sections, then everything is free.

  • I just had an order arrive in the mail the other day from tinydeal. Every item in it was smaller than I expected. Am I in the right thread?

Yes, you're in the right place…if every item was bigger then you'd be looking for Texasdeal! ;)

        Much obliged.

        • Come to think of it, I just might be looking for a Texasdeal. I once logged into OzBargain from Dallas, and ever since the site has considered me to be a Yankee. Yeehaaa!!!
