Anyone Fancy Having Sir Richard Branson as Your Air Hostess?

Just saw this on the AirAsia website. You can book an Air Asia charity flight from Perth to Kuala Lumpur (or as part of a Fly-Thru) for Sunday 12th May 2013 and be served by Richard Branson in full make-up and high heels…the mind boggles….

More than two years after losing a bet to AirAsia Group Chief Executive Officer Tony Fernandes about who had the better Formula 1™ team, a sultry
Sir Richard – complete with make-up, a pair of high heels and freshly shaved legs - will strut his stuff as a cross-dressing cabin crew on a special AirAsia X charity flight from Perth to Kuala Lumpur on May 12 2013.

Sir Richard and Tony had each wagered their Formula 1™ racing teams (then Lotus Racing and Virgin Racing) would finish ahead of each other in their debut season in 2010, and that the loser would serve as a female cabin crew on the winner's airline.
Tony’s team finished two spots above Sir Richard’s in the final rankings.

The one-way fare is AUD 398.

  • haha sounds like good fun

  • Richard Branson wins either way, as he is a brand of his own and it is all publicity. If Tony Fernandes had lost it would still be PR for Virgin, but not so much AirAsia as no one knows him.

  • This is quite simply Richard Branson promoting his own airlines.
It was a win-win situation either way.
It you guys didn't know, AirAsia is a partially owned by the Virgin Group.

I think the politically correct term is "Air Steward".

    • or "flight attendant'.

He is going to be wearing a skirt and high heels though….:P

      • and don't forget the makeup and shaved legs!

        (makes me shudder tho tbh)
