Only "Native Resolution SVGA (800 x 600)" though.

      • yeah thats preeeeety low

      • So no good at all for a cheap bedroom setup? (PS3 and high def set top box)

        • HD projector is obviously better, but… the huge image of an 800x600 projector is still pretty impressive. Much more immersive than a 50" TV. My friends still tend to use them for movie nights etc even though they have expensive TVs.

        • Cheers but i'm now giving this a miss due to the likelihood the globe won't be new.

      • what does it mean when it says native reso 800x600 but supports 1080p?"

        • +5

It means the projector itself can only put an 800x600 resolution image on the screen. It may be able to support a 1080p input signal, but it compresses the image down internally, then only shows you an 800x600 image.

thanks just got this one for $150 honestly cant go wrong its cheaper then those elcheapo brand ones on ebay

this will be my first projector and its more of a test to see if i can get it setup well before buying a better one thanks

      • did you received yours? how is the quality? any scratch ? thanks

  • What warranty comes with these? i.e. 3-12mths

    • 3 Months On-Site Pickup Warranty

      • +1

        12 week warranty on a ~$500 outlay… no thanks.

        • Statutory rights apply. Reasonable expectation for $500 appliance>3mths.

        • Nope, that is for new goods. This is a second hand product which has been repaired or repackaged after being used and is being sold for much less than retail price, so there is should be no expectation of a normal warranty period.

        • Nope, that is for new goods. This is a second hand product…

AFAIK, Australian Consumer Law doesn't differentiate between new and second-hand goods, and its "acceptable quality" provisions still apply here. This guide (http://www.consumerlaw.gov.au/content/the_acl/downloads/cons…) gives an example:

Second-hand goods sold in trade or commerce are covered by the guarantee of acceptable quality, but age, price and condition must be taken into account.

          For example:
A consumer buys a second-hand washing machine for $250 from a shop. The supplier said it was two years old and in good condition but it breaks down after two months. A reasonable consumer would expect to get more than two months’ use from this machine. The consumer would be entitled to a remedy from the supplier.

        • I don't disagree with what you've found, but in reality the price is well below retail price and a warranty period is offered. Businesses rarely honour out of warranty products without a fight, and when it ends up with the Fair Trading (or the equivalent in your state) these facts will be presented by the seller and because its such a grey area nothing will get done and you'll just be told by FT to take them to court yourself if you want something done about it.

Consumer law is hopeless when it comes to those grey areas with vague requirements.

  • Very tempted, but the 3 month warranty is the killer. I really want this projector but i would like a new one. Any good deals on non refurbished stock?

    • Edit: Totally the wrong model.

    • W1070 for $999. 3d fhd projector but doesn't come with any 3d glasses.

  • Another thing,do these refurb models include a new globe? can't seem to see it mentioned.

Im guessing they dont bother for this price. They probably just get returns, turn it on to see if it works, then ship it to the next customer at a discount and hope they dont complain.

      • Wow i'll definitely pass then,thanks.

He said that was a guess, don't take it as gospel.

Should I be alarmed the payment site isn't secure?

    • Holy crap! it isn't.

Pay by paypal, guys, if you still trust this site…

    • how can you tell? Thanks

  • OW had it brand new for $749 about 2 months ago. I guess it is now discontinued and all old stocks cleared.

    • Correct!! Replaced by the W1070, a far superior 1080p 3d projector, I have had one for 4 months and it is excellent. I got mine from Officeworks on price matching for under $900 (google Penta Group and look up the W1070). It comes with a 2 year warranty in Australia, only 1 year overseas. Note: Benq 3D projectors do not come with 3d glasses and these must be purchased separately.

      • Actually it was my mistake, I am after the W1070, not this model. What is the best price anyone has found for the W1070?
