  • The subway system in London is very good and convenient, as the train to outer London (should be the same in Madrid?)
you can take those tourist bus which give better view while traveling.(there are 2 main companies running them, last time I went to)
As for what places to visit, you should do really your own itinerary/homework as everyone has different preferences/interest… also depend on how long you are staying

  • +1

Do your own homework then ask for specific suggestions.

It's more fun that way, and we aren't your travel agents.

    • Agree. Go to your library and pick up a Lonely Planet. I travelled to Switzerland a couple of years ago. Great place but it's all dependent on your budget, time, which side of the country you are flying into etc.

  • Hi Neil we got a week in Switzerland. We are thinking to fly to Zurich then take train to Geneva and visit Jungfra station.
I want to know what is the best option to buy train pass within Switzerland, and any of accommodation you stayed is good. ( budget is 150 per night preferred but can pay up to 200 per night)

    Thanks guys

    • Switzerland is expensive even compared to Australia. Hotels, I just used Hotelscombined. As for trains, I just went into the train station, sat down with a consultant and they recommended the best options. Sometimes the passes are not the best value. Oh and when they say there is a train leaving at 2:05PM, it means literally the train will be departing the station at 2:05 within a matter of seconds.

The train systems in Switzerland are amazing. They also have the most beautiful views. Here is just a random picture I took from the train. The big cities are not as interesting as the places in between. Lucerne is probably one of the more popular areas where there are beautiful lakes, Mt. Pilates, beautiful village. I wanted to see Jungfra but didn't have time. We ended up staying in Zermatt for a couple of days where you can get to the top of The Matterhorn. That's awesome (and cold).

Keep in mind the western half of Switzerland is French, eastern north German. We stopped in Gruyer and saw how they made their cheese, stopped in a castle.

France borders England and Spain, so you may as well stop through France. How long is your trip?

      • thanks Neil. We have one week in switzerland :)

  • The London Undeground can be a bit confusing due to the many, many lines, but trains are very frequent, although be prepared to sway side to side if it's your first time ;). Of course, I'd suggest Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Madame Tussards (the wax museum), as well as Westminster Abby, the London Eye and the MI6 building. I do suggest, if you have the time, to take a day trip to Bath or Manchester.

Dubai will have the usual tourist sites of Dubai Mall, Ski Dubai, the Mall of the Emirates, the Burj Khalifa, the Burj Al Arab, Wild Wadi, Atlantis and the Palm, but I highly recommend visiting some of the Souks (the old style markets), as well as Dubai Creek and Dubai Marina (different place altogether).

You didn't mention which city you're heading to in Spain and Switzerland? So I not sure if I can give any specific advice. But be sure to have a blast!

    • Thank you pushniacki . I am planning to go Madrid and Barcelona in spain for 5 to 6 days then fly to zurich in switzerland.
Thank you for your useful tips for London and Dubai :)
