    Great game, definitely worth $5!

    EDIT - I should say, the kids love this game. It's basically one you just start up… and just drive. You don't have to do any of the races, you can just drive your car around the city.

    The only annoying thing about this game is that the "quit" option is hidden deep within the menu system!

      I think I used to just mash 'Alt F4' to quit quickly to the desktop.

    If you like any type of arcade racing game, you'll love this. Not quite what Burnout used to be, but the open world is great and crashing is never a bad thing because of the spectacle of watching your car get smashed to bits!

    need for speed hot pursuit is 5 bucks too. scored well on metacritic too, and is a newer game with better grpahics.

      Burnout Paradise is a far better game. The entire gameplay of hot pursuit is pretty much wholey contained within burnout paradise (ie, all of the entire like 3 different race types in hot pursuit are in burnout paradise + more modes, like stunt runs and co-op challenges etc).

      The only thing is real car sim nuts won't enjoy it, since they don't use real car names etc. It's more arcady (and in my opinion fun). Pretty sure the only reason it would have a higher metacritic raiting is because of how well known the NFS series is. It'd be like comparing say battlefield to call of duty. Burnout is the bigger game, it contains all of the same gameplay offered in call of duty plus more, but that does not mean everyone is going to like it more.

      Each of the last 2 NFS games made by criterion, on most video game websites, most people get upset and complain about the fact it isn't burnout with real car names, which is essentially what most of us would prefer over the last like 6+ NFS games.

    I'll say that the soundtrack is excellent in this game and fits brilliantly well, since everyone else already pointed out how good the gameplay is.

    I tried this game long ago I love the burnout series but this one just didn't hit the spot with it's sandbox mode for me. that being said I didn't really play anymore than 30mins of it so take from that what you will.

    this game sucks on pc, they shut down the Shop so you cant get the dmc 12 (delorean ripoff that actually flys), there are a few mods that bring it back in if you want them though so not to bad, the DMC12 is aweosme!!!
