SONY (eReader) Reader™ PRS-T2 - $97.00

100

Full SRP of $179.00 according to SONY

Just bought one for Mum from JB for $99, and they're pretty awesome. Full support for ePUB which is the open book standard, unlike Kindle.

The main downside is lack of a backlight, but a saving of $50ish compared to one with a backlight.

I also bought my Mum the case and light pack for $29 (SRP $59) from JB

Hope someone finds these of interest :)

Cheers,
Wade

    Best E-reader on the market.

    • I bought the previous model and loved that , what is the improvement on this model?
They seem to be selling it alot cheaper these days

Very nice gift for your mum.

  • Very good price, far lower than stores like B&H in New York.

Here's hoping the upcoming PRS-T3 actually decides on a removable battery when they release it, but I'm not holding my breath. Companies love that e-waste.

  • it's also $89 on Grays http://www.graysonline.com/retail/prst2bc-n/cameras/sony-prs…
But its $9.95 shipping so it works out about the same. I guess the decider would be if you need something else from any of these stores and can combine the shipping to make it a bit cheaper overall.

This is a good price though, Ive always liked the sony ereaders ever since I saw one 10 years ago that my friend bought when we was living in china. Plus I already have epubs from using an ipad/iphone.

Anyone who has a tablet and an ereader, do you get less eye strain over long periods? I read on my ipad a lot but sometimes I get over the light…

    • E-ink is more pleasant to read for long periods. Especially in high ambient light.

  • I can't find it on their website, but does anyone know if its the same price for the white version?
