BangGood.com bang really really bad

I got sucked in by a banggood deal a few weeks back that I just received. While I was there a bought a few more items including some tracksuit pants. Anyway, the jacket stinks, literally. It smells like mould and will need to be steam cleaned before it can be worn.

My main concern is that I used their size chart and a tailors tape to measure myself out to work out my size. I'm usually a US medium to large but the medium size match a current pair of tracksuit pants so I ordered. Waaaaay too small, like jokingly too small. They look like leggings that don't even reach my ankles. So I contact banggood explain how I measured myself, etc. and ask if I can swap them for a larger size. They asked for a photo. Hmmm? OK, so I sent them a photo. I truly wish there was a way to attach the photo here as its hilarious.

Well they get back to and this is their response.

"If you want US L size, you should not choose US M."

And that's it. no other recourse just a well you should have chosen large.

My wife tried them on. She likes them but they don't reach her ankles either. She's a US small.

I'd steer clear of this mob if I were you. You have been warned.

You shouldn't buy clothes online unless it's a clothes store or shop that predominately sells clothing

  • +3

That's the risk you take buying clothes online unfortunately. I disagree banggood have had some excellent deals lately and their customer service on OzB at least seems pretty damn good.

Well I'm on Ozbargain and the customer service has been patronising and awful let alone the quality of there products. Agree I won't be buying clothes from these type of sites again.

  • upload the photos here, i'm keen to see this haha

    • Haha, they're like baseball pants

    • Have you measured them against the measurements on the site?

      • I have. The length measurement is correct measured from the top of the white elastic strip which, as you can see actually continues up behind my top to just under my belly button. So really length measurement is pointless (I assumed from the waist where my normal pants start from). Also as they stretch so much over my thighs the length is further diminished.

Does anyone think that the photo on the right looks better than that photo on the left? They're a shit pair of pants mate!

        • +7

Looks like your crotch could do with a bit more breathing room there as well.

        • This is the funniest shit ever. Everyone just came into my office wondering what I was laughing about. This is why I am on ozbargain.

    • Would still banggood.

    • he he

  • I recently ordered some things from banggood and they all arrived as described (after about five weeks). I also didn't receive the airmail tracking number they promised.

I've ordered quite a bit of clothing online and most of the measurements have been alright. But I've also encountered 'measure it and we'll discuss it' is really annoying. I think it's a stalling tactic.

    • Did you order from the last Banggood ozbargain special of the jacket? Does yours stink?

      • I did, it doesn't seem to stink, it's just got a bit of a new clothes smell I guess?

        • You're lucky. I understand it's quite humid in China, but mine is definately on the verge of releasing spores. Hope the weathers fine tomorrow, will ferbreeze the sh*t out of it as well as glen20 and hang it on the line. Hopefully it will make a difference.

  • I bought CREE Q5 from there, and it's all good.

    • I bought a Cree with my order. Weird battery size. Other than that the only part of my order I'm happy with. I guess you never buy clothes from these sites, gadgets ain't too bad though.

Clothes are very hit and miss, hallenstien brothers, their small size varied from being 15cms different between two tops. And they are a dedicated clothing retailer! The hut, I bought clothes that fit well on arrival, after 1 wash it shrunk so much it's like a kids top now. And yes I followed the washing instructions.

My experience has been, buy online at ur own risk, if u want the opportunity to comlain and return, buy in a store, at least u can whine to someone who gets paid decently to hear it :)

I got my jacket today - actually very happy with it for 20 bucks. I am not an odd shape though - so actually it is quite a tailored fit.

    • Does it smell funny (mouldy)?

      • Other than the smell and I'll need to dry clean it first, it's not a bad jacket for $20. Wish the arms were longer and a little less tight around the belly (they should give a measurement for that).

        • Maybe it's a sign to lessen the chocie intake lol

        • I'd give up chocie if it made you shorter. Then I could fit into the pants :-)

      • No.

  • lol

banggood are just another hopeless outfit from Hong Kong (i believe… i didnt check the return addy all that closely)

you have to treat it like DX or Merit or Tmart or… any of them clowns where you buy worthless trinkets for few bucks

if you wanna buy clothes, got to Big W, Target, KMart, Best n Less etc where all the westies go

They really did bang you good ;)

  • get a pair of scissors…cut them a bit further up and call them 3/4 pants :D

    • Brand new they're 3/4 pants :-)

I bought a few jackets from Banggood. I'm usually a medium. The arms are so tight i think i gotta stop going to the gym and stop working out my guns!

  • they look like womens pants, no wonder your wife liked them.. :)

    • you calling him a girl? ;)

  • yeah i almost never buy clothes online unless they are amazing bargain..

Its a large risk, although some companies will accept returns for another size, most won't.

I do buy from topman, but that is because i have been to London and tried on their stuff, so I know what sizes I am from them..

    Hi

I am very sorry that the pants you ordered did not meet your expectations.

We do measure each piece of clothing we sell as accurately as possible to avoid such situations. However, occasionally inaccuracies can occur or customers may misjudge which size will fit best. I have requested this product be re-measured at the warehouse to ensure that the published measurements are correct.

As a gesture of good will and to apologise for the inconvenience, I would like to offer you a full refund for the pants. If you would like to accept, please let me know.

    Best wishes

I don't know how much you charged him for the pants, but it has definitely been worth it for the laughs. Just about everyone in my office has been pissing themselves laughing for the last ten minutes.

Someone just suggested that "internet pants" would be a good name for a meme.

      Banggood saves the day!

I was employing a critical line of thought to this post until I saw the photos… Absolutely champagne stuff! The disgruntled stance in the photo makes it funnier x 10. For all others that took up this deal - can we have a banggood photo competition? Winner gets the superman socks.

Same thing happened to me and I received the same bullshit argument in return, blaming on 'wrong size selection' made by me.
How can they say that I ordered a wrong size when they sent me one that is 10cm+ shorter than advertised? On the forum and the webpage it says 'for UK S you will receive tag size L', then again, I received baby's size S… Who fault would this be?

  • They did you a favor saving you wearing them - those pants are awful!

  • I agree with OP re caution on dealing with Banggood. I ordered CREE Q5 torch on 19/4 and still no sign of it here. Their standard shipping quote is 7-15 business days. My biggest frustration is lack of customer service feedback, as I have sent multiple emails and haven't been able to get them on live chat of an evening, though maybe I am trying too late.

Our other HK friends or China drop shippers including Meritline or TMart have all delivered well within 2-3 weeks.

  • Clothes from bargain Chinese websites = asking for trouble! We've only bought clothing from Rivers online and never had a problem.

The one thing I did buy from Banggood was from Ebay where one of their accounts is Bobowaytopay and it arrived after a (typical) month.

  • Is anyone still awaiting their coat jacket from Banggood?

  • Still awaiting my jacket!
Been told the usual "please allow two more weeks for customs etc"
    Hopefully it'll arrive sometime soon…
