Not a bad deal.
Make sure you cancel subscription before the end of the 28 days or you will get billed normal prices of about $10 a month.
Perhaps have a temp paypal account with no money in the account rather than a credit card on file just in case they try and charge you anyway.
( i joined the recent Age deal with free ngv membership and told them in advance to cancel at the end of the deal but they sneakily tried to charge me anyway!)
The Australian is mostly right wing Murdoch propaganda but it a cheap deal that someone may want.

    Hmmm, might be an inexpensive way to get some floor covers when painting.

    The only reason they give away papers like this is so that they can boast of their distribution numbers to potential advertisers.

    You get charged before the end of the subscription, I started on the 21st March charged 11th April.
    Pay by paypal and then cancel the authorisation.

    Normal prices of $10 or week, or $10 a month (which would make it identical to the offer price wouldn't it)? I wouldn't mind getting billed $10 a month on a month-by-month basis for a six day sub + digital to the Australian. I am worried about signing up to this deal because they could put out a better offer (one cheaper or on longer terms) with the 'new customer' requirements.

      normal price is $10 a week.
      this deal is $10 for the initial month then $10a week after that.
      They assume that people forget or are too lazy to cancel - maybe even the odd one might think its worth it!
      weekday cover price is $2 i think plus delivery costs and weekend might be $3+?. you also get 'digital access'.
      i think not masny people pay for digitalo access so they are probably trying to boost digital penetration by throwing it in free but claiming 'hey look at all these paid digital suscribers we have - its a sucess'

    My trial expired so I started another trial for the $1 digital pass, didn't even need to create a new account :)

    As much as I like the concept of sitting down and reading the paper it just doesn't fit in with my schedule.
