Our Sony TV is malfunctioning and we need to shop for one in a hurry.
A friend really loves his LG, so are the many OB'ner here.
Does anyone know of a good deal around Brisbane/Gold Coast currently?

Actually checked my TV box and I actually purchased the Series 6 Samsung 40".

Did you compare with LG before you settle on this?
We first saw the LG in the shop, and pretty impressed with the Magic Remote, and the interface.
Then saw it in a "real home", a friend's place.
I basically want to watch internet such as CCTV, Youtube etc.
Will find out more about downloadable apps.Actually Pumpkin, I did look at the LG as I have a 5 year old LG that hasn't missed a beat, was Full 1080 HD and has a built in hard drive PVR. Been very impressed with it. It is now in the guest bedroom.
I was space constrained and could only fit a 40" TV. So the LG was not on my list (I would have had to go down to the 32") The 40" Samsung fitted with 10mm to spare.
The 3D LG also has the bonus of being able to use $5 3D glasses and comes with 4 pairs and $1 ones from the cinema work I believe. My understanding is that the resolution drops for 3D but not seen as a big issue - ie. you don't notice a major difference. It also has "Dual Play" which sounds like an interesting gimmick.
One feature I liked with the Samsung is the catch up TV, especially ABC iView. I assume the LG Smart TV should have this, but I have not checked.
EDIT: My other 40" option was a Sony, but they do not have a PVR function and as mentioned I have found there customer service to be appauling.
When did Sony become so bad? I have also had problems with my Sony products and their customer service and repairs is appalling. God help anyone with a faulty Sony product.
I ended up buying a Samsung TV (series5) and have been amazed by the smart tv functions including downloadable apps. Hopefully the quality is better than the Sony.
