Late OzBargain newsletter

Hi All,

I'm missing out on all the awesome deals as I get OZbargain newsletter late.. when I click on the deals it seems it was already posted a day before.
How do I get the newsletter early or where do I go to bookmark all the current upto date deals and then keep refreshing ?

This is what keeps happening to me:
Deals posted on 20th of May throughout the day and night .. I get a mail from Ozbargain newsletter on 21st morning that the deals out out. When I go in Ozbargain I find all the deals are expired or gone.

  • visit the ozbargain webpage…. or find that forum post a little while ago where the guy collated all the deals for us!?!

twitter and rss feed is apparently pretty insatnt if you want mobile alerts

Where is the link to the post where the guy collated all the deals ? I can't seem to find this ?

I checked settings and found deals to be sent every morning but that doesn't solve the problem of getting the newletter after the deals are over. Should I set the time zone to another country instead Australia forcing the newletter to send me updates on that particular day ?
I don't use twitter or facebook…. RSS feed might be the only good option but then again I need to know how to customise the deals according to my preference like gadgets only… etc

It's a joke. I don't have the link but it was an unreadable wall of text.

the problem of getting the newletter after the deals are over.

In the settings, you can set it to not show expired deals.

The newsletters are daily. That won't accomplish anything. As stated before, you can select what time you want the newsletter to be received (morning, day, night).

If you don't use RSS/Twitter/Facebook and don't check your emails in time, the best option is just to view deals through using this site. Then you will see in the available deals in real time.

  • As above, RSS and Twitter are good ways to say up to date with deals. Our Facebook page will post any deals that score 50+ votes or more.

The other thing you can do is change the time you receive the newsletter by going to

My Account - edit - newsletter

From there you can change the time it is received

Send me daily newsletters by email
    in the morning
    mid-day
    in the evening

Or set a minimum vote count for the deals that are shown, categories or excluding expired deals in the newsletter.

    • Is it correct to assume that the newsletters are dynamic and therefore generated 3 times a day (just in time) before they are actually sent, as opposed to static whereby a single newsletter is generated once a day and then the same newsletter is sent out 3 times?

      • Yes correct. Also for members it also lists new comments in the discussions you've participated in, so it's also dynamic per individual user.

  • Another thing that we are hoping to introduce is front page deal notifications, where you only receive email when a deal hits the front page. This will hopefully reduce people's need to refresh OzBargain homepage continuously.
