Not sure how many people are planning a trip using their Qantas frequent flyer points but this would be worth noting. When choosing your flights, try different airline combinations and you can save heaps of money on taxes and fuel surcharge.
One example was a return booking from Perth to London on frequent flyer points which cost $673 more with Qantas than Emirates (at http://perthhacks.com). According to an article Qantas may be closing this loophole soon.
