Fujifilm X-Pro1 Camera with 18-55mm Lens Kit $1599 (Free Shipping with 3 Years Warranty!)

30

For the discerning photographer who lets nothing stand in the way of quality, the Fujifilm X-Pro1 offers superb build quality, fast-aperture interchangeable lenses and the look and feel of a modern classic. Designed especially for the X-Pro1, the FUJINON XF Lens series promises enhanced resolution and light volume in image edge areas as well as reduced chromatic aberration for exceptional image quality.

Featuring an all-glass aspherical lens and other elements, the lens is polished to perfection and treated with Super EBC coating. Taking full advantage of the mirrorless design, the mount boasts a short 17.7mm flange back distance, a wider opening and deeper mounting of the lens, resulting in reduction of back focus distance to the minimum possible while achieving high resolution extending to the image edge areas. Moiré is tackled at its root cause by the revolutionary X-Trans CMOS sensor's color filter array.

By enhancing aperiodicity (randomness) in the array arrangement, the color filter minimizes generation of both moiré and false colors, eliminating the necessity for an optical low-pass filter in the lens and enabling X-Trans CMOS sensor to capture full “unfiltered” lens performance.

Pro or semi will buy slr. Who will buy this for that amount?

    • suspect a lot of hipsters would get a "semi" over this camera..

    • +2

people who realise they dont need a gigantic slr to just take pics of their kids.

seriously the dslr trend has to die.

The ignorant will buy a DSLR instead of this. Different tools for different jobs, but there's no shortage of pros using these for pro jobs.

If I didn't have a x100s I might consider this. I haven't used my SLR for 6+ months but use my x100s almost every day.

I would be tempted to wait to see if there's a newer x-pro coming out though…

Edit: I'm not a pro or semi-pro though.

    • I am the same, x100s everyday and SLR sit at aside. :(

  • Fantastic little camera - I took a friend's out for a day trip to shoot some street stuff and the image quality was marvelous. The glass on the fuji lenses is fantastic, up there with some of the top leica glass.

In the end I didn't buy it, and went with the X100 instead as I wanted something more portable.

I know a number of photographers who have sold their 5D II's in favour of this little guy.

    • I concur. The colour reproduction on this camera is fantastic. A lot of people don't priorotise on colour reproduction these days, choosing to do post filtering to get sepia/lumo/extreme HDR effects. Straight out of the box the fuji's colours do not need any tweaking!
