iPad car headrest holder for middle of the car (two kids) - Double headrest attachment?

Hi guys,

Does anyone know of an ipad headrest holder that doesn't attach to the back of one headrest, but would go between the two headrests and sit in the middle of the car?
Got two kids and it would be great if there was something that could share the ipad love for when they finally get bored of books/i spy/singing songs/story tapes on those long car journeys.

Thanks heaps!

  • As most seem to be made for individual viewing, I would suggest you just grab a piece of pine from Bunnings, drill holes for the headrest rods to go through, then just mount a regular holder onto the piece of wood. You could even paint it if you want to get fancy. Beats paying a fortune for something that would probably have to mount to the centre console somehow and would not offer the strength of pine board.

    • Woah that is a cool idea.
There are some with extending arms but they seem to be around the $50 mark. Will have to see what I can find but the drill and pine could be an innovative solution to be proud of

A few similar to this on eBay.
I personally have two single mounts but these look ok.

  • Yeah, that seems pretty good. Looks like it clamps to the headrest rods anyway.

    • Your other option is something like this, but you will need to find one the right height. Usually loosen seat mount bolt, slip in iPad arm and tighten bolt.

  • Cool thanks for the ebay links, gave me an idea of what keywords to search for and came up with this one for $21

Didn't really want to spend more than $20 but seems like it could do the trick

    • +1

I have two car headrest mounts a cheap one and an expensive one. The cheap one is surprisingly good. Interestingly the one in your link is the same as my cheap one, just with an extension arm. Should do the trick for you.

    • Are you sure that thing swivels sufficiently to allow it to be put in the middle?

      • Ooh good point. Might have to ask them
