It is time to upgrade my very old desk top PC, I am tight on space so would like to purchase an all in one format.
I am looking for advice on best bang for my buck, my budget is up to $1500.

Why do you need such high specs? Gaming? If it is just only for office, you can probably do with a sub $1000 dollar one. An Ivy Bridge system can also handle HTPC duties without the need for the system to be too expensive.
AIO's are not terribly good bang for your buck and some of them are poorly configured. A lot of all-in-ones advertise a core i7 with integrated graphics for example.
Don't get sucked into buying these and think they're good for games, when in fact they're not.
AIO's with high end graphics chips can be very cost prohibitive (and even then, they only use the mobile version of graphics cards which means they will not perform as well as the desktop equivalent.)
