  Hire a car, park near the airport, sleep in it and return it before the morning flight

    there are suburbs with good food only 10mins from the airport (kensington, mascot, even the city??) so this is the best idea. drive to restaurant(s) eat, drink, sleep. return car and fly away!

  You could try Air BnB rooms in the suburbs of Kingsford, Maroubra or Randwick, which are on the 400 bus route from the airport. Bus tickets should be $3.60-$4.60 each way & looks like there are a few rooms available from $40 up. Depends how much time you have - do you need to go through customs etc? Last bus on weeknights is around 11.30pm. Some of these places are within walking distance to the beach, so depending on how much sleep you want to get, you could maybe squeeze in a morning coffee & a walk on the beach… You could even ask your host if they would pick you up/drop you off at the airport for an extra tenner, you never know your luck, some of these folks are pretty friendly.
