Haswell Ultrabook

Have any decent Haswell Laptops been announced yet?

I'm after a 13.3" Ultrabook with backlit keyboard and preferably FHD.
Core i5, 128GB SSD, 8GB RAM and no graphics card.

Should I wait for haswell or snap up a deal on Ivy bridge?

I figure its worth paying extra for the increase in graphics power, modest power increase and decent battery life increase that haswell offers..

Am I right?

  • the sony vaio pro/duo (forgot which one) 13 sounds megasexy , 870g.

probably going to be really pricy though.

  • ooh shiny :) I'm thinking it will be a toss up between the Dell and the Sony.. Probably the Dell if it's cheaper. Any word on availability? I asked a dell rep last week and he said he had no idea but at a guess mid july..

Edit: Damn, i just read the verge and engadget saying that it wont be available until the holiday season. Is that december? I can't wait that long :/

    • it wont be available until the holiday season. Is that december

Pretty sure it's American holidays, not Australian.

      • Which means Thanksgiving, end of November.

    The new MacBook Air?… :)

    • easily my vote for sure… sure not full hd but probably the best ultrabook going imo… dual boot with windows and you have best of both worlds. thats my daily computer these days. $1250 for 128gb 13" air is great… and ram upgrade from 4 to 8gb for $120

Can you upgrade the RAM yourself or not? I'm presuming not since its apple.
I'm really not a mac fan myself but this could tempt me to convert to the dark side (light side?) :P Since its available now and pricing is reasonable.
        I'm still conflicted tho :/

        • Damn, just watching the wwdc keynote. there's some good stuff there :)

        • I'm more concerned upgrading the ssd, though it would be nice to now when windows haswell laptops will be available.

I have been trying to even find a laptop with full HD with SSD, 8 gig ram , 2gigs graphics but finding it hard~ sugggestions?

    • Toshiba P50T-A01C, I got one and you have to replace the original HDD with an SSD, works like beast. I got this and the macbook air coz they both were on sales two weeks ago, now thinking about selling one and keep one, pm me if you would like decent price

wait a couple of months, at the moment all the manufacturers are releasing their products over a IFA berlin 2013. Most planning are to relase their products in the next few months.

        • some of them look pretty sick, particularly keen for Thinkpad Yoga and perhaps VAIO Flip/Tap. Now I just need to wait and see for Surface 2 hehe.
