  • I have the same issue with my 96 Toyota Corolla.
    Call Auto Upholsterers
Was ringing around for quotes yesterday - so far have had a variance of about 100.
Cheapest place I have found so far is in ringwood.

    • Thanks for the info georgedeka. When driving the car, I feel as if am under a tent.lol
      Will start getting quotes

    • Got few quotes. All are around $180 mark
Can you pls pm me the number of the ringwood auto upholster

      • I'll look for it tommorrow, but they were $230 - I realise it is a different car tho.
Could you pm me some of the $180 ones

  • The same thing happened in my 95 commodore. Myechanic advised to fix it with drawing pins, so I got some white ones from officeworks ands can of matching paint. It almost looks like is that way from the factory.
(the headliner is a thin wood fiberboard panel with the fabric spray glued onto it).

    • Looks like a great idea. Will give it a try tonight

  • Trust me, from a qualified motor trimmer, fix it properly. The headlining varies greatly between cars. For the main there are two methods, those with a shell where fabric (usually with very thin backing) is glued to the shell. The other type is wire brackets held in the roof where material panels are sown together and the brackets pushed through the pockets and held in place.

Camry's are the shell type. You may want a crack at it, but there is a skill to doing it right and without wrinkles or lumps and more importantly, ensuring it stay's up there!

    • Thanks Jetstar777. Appreciate your advice.
With the quotes am getting, am really confused with whom to go with. Don't think cheapest is always best.

Glad to hear from people who experienced this issue and how much did they spend to fix it

      • Agree, one guy told me he would spend about 60-80 on material. And it is about 3 hours labor.
