  The 1515, which seems to be the same design but without the answering machine, scored the lowest for earpiece sound quality in the most recent Choice test (it scored 57% out of a range of 57-77% for models tested). Still made the 'what to buy' list, strangely enough.
  
  There goes a good birthday idea - parents need a new one :-/
