It should be noted you can get the Apacer and Adata 16GB drives from MSY for $45. The Kingston is $49.

However the Lexar is physically smaller and apparently has a good clip for keyrings (most such clips are too small, impractical, or break). Don't expect it to be any faster though.

Due to the smallness it's probably a bargain, but since it's hard to find anyone else who stocks it it's hard to say for certain.

I guess buying this at Officeworks would be more convenient for most people who work in the city etc.

I use this type because the holder stays on my keyring. When the drive is in the computer all the weight of my keys isn't on it.

I 2nd that, i ONLY buy these lexar firefly drives, because of the clip, i bought a 2gb from harvey norman a few weeks ago for around $12 if i recall. I dont care if its slower than others (if it is indeed actually slower, my 2gb seems fast enough to me) the clip makes all the difference.

According to http://www.trustedreviews.com/storage/review/2006/10/19/Lexa…, the speed is not very good.

    • Comment upmodded because poster saved me the trouble finding a review.

    • Considering the age of the review and the fact it's a different model, I wouldn't necessarily take this as an accurate indicator.

It's not a good sign, though.

      • Picky..!

This is a very good deal. The time and convenience of Officeworks is worth the bit extra than MSY. Lexar are also a reputable brand as well.

    • Not if you're planning to use the entire 16 Gigs, as you'll have a lot of spare time on your hands waiting for files to be copied to this slow drive.

      • I'd like to re-iterate, while it's not a good sign that the 4GB model from 2006 is slow, this is not enough evidence to conclusively say the 2009 16GB model is a slow drive.
