  • "readyboost" = "Marketing" != "Performance"

    Up to 5MB/s write? This is stupidly slow. It would take less time to starve to death than to transfer 8GB worth of files to the drive [citation needed].

    Really, I've given up altogether on these slow drives. I have a Lexar JumpDrive Lightning II which writes @ 20+MB/s and reads at 30MB/s. Shame it's only 2GB but I'd prefer it over something larger and slower.

    • Comment upmodded for outrageous but colourful exaggeration.

    • Agreed, 5Mb/s is stupidly slow.

      I can get 17mb/s write speed with a generic microSD card in a generic MicroSD card reader.

  • Most of the USB device, even the ones that tx at 1Mb/s claims to have speed "Upto 480Mbps".

  • Appalling speed.
    Good price.

    ReadyBoosy is just a marketing gimmick. Unless you're using 512Mb of RAM (which I doubt ANYONE is these days) you're not going to see any significant gains in terms of faster prefetching and caching of data.

  • it says $50 now…..
