PIPO Max-M6 Quad Core RK3188 - decent tablet?

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a tablet for my wife and the kids (toddlers). Therefor it will be used mainly for surfing, games (at home) and the odd movie while on the road.

The missus saw a friend with the Samsung Galaxy Tab2 (around for $280 right now) and wants that one. I think I can do better for the price, but am not sure if I should 'risk' a PIPO. The specs are obviously much better than a Galaxy Tab2.

I was hoping someone has some experience with this brand or maybe even with this particluar model.
Also, I'd to know more about these getting tablets from Hong Kong etc. Is it 'safe' or would I just regret it?

    I should warn you about Buy In Coins. This particular store has no proper RMA procedures and will not accept product returns for faulty items, even if you offer to shoulder the responsibility / costs of return shipping. They'll just expect you to find a repair shop to fix your item and offer you some cash as compensation.

    In short, don't buy from BuyInCoins.

    I believe the RK3188 to be one of the better quad core chips out there. Have a Cube RK3066 dual core (the processor before the 3188) and have been very happy with it. Couldnt comment on PIPO as a brand but seems popular. Other websites for bargain Chinese tablets are:

    Thanks for the reply guys.
    I took a leap of faith and ordered a tablet from buyincoins. Not the M6 though, but the M9.

    I think that product returns are the main issue with all chinese online shops. The cost of sending a something back to China are just to high to justify the whole procedure.

      I had the opportunity to return a faulty phone to Deal Extreme last week. Oddly enough, I didn't have to ship it to China but instead to a warehouse located in Kogarah, Sydney.

      I'm guessing DX is an exception because these guys are successful they've somehow managed to offshore some of their ops to Australia.

    I purchased this: PO M9 pro WIFI Version. I think it is a PIPO, but I am not sure, but I don't care as the specs are really good for the price of $88.99 with $15.99 delivery. I am glad I got it. I purchased it 2 hours ago and they are selling like hotcakes on ebay. He put another batch on when the previous batch sold out. It has retina screen, 1.6ghz, gps, 3g, 2gb ram, 32gb nand flash memory. I really like the fact that it has 32gb internal storage and 2gb ram. My sister told me not to get it, she said "why didn't you get the cube one, like my one". I said: yours cost over $200 with the auction, mine is half that price, and the only difference I can see is that yours is 1.8ghz and mine is 1.6ghz, yours has 16gb nand flash, mine has 32gb nand flash. The cube is a very good tablet I must admit, but I am comparing the price to the specs.

    I cannot put it in "new deals" list, because that is not allowed. They have to be a power seller. Its not a seller from china, it is from australia. I will just put down the name from ebay.com.au which is:

    3G 32GB GPS 10.1" RETINA IPS RK3188 QUAD CORE 4.2 ANDROID TABLET PC

    If he sells out, just keep an eye on it, as he might put another batch on

      Hes got 2 processor speeds in the description 1.6ghz and 1.8ghz

          Paypal said they will refund my money very soon and the case has been closed. Make sure you open a case before the 45 days is up as you cannot do it after 45 days. The lesson learnt here is if it is way too cheap, be wary. Now I will just buy things with a "normal" price or cheap price, but NOT TOO CHEAP as this was the case with this item. By the way, he still has an account, but surprise, surprise, his online shop is empty now. If you didn't pay with paypal you use the ebay resolution one.

        I am not going to post anymore bargains from ebay ever again here. And he's supposedly a good seller with 98% customer positive reviews. I am hoping I still get it, crossing my fingers.

          Yes, paypal gave me my money back. Yes, a good seller with high percentage of positive customer reviews, can turn bad, he's a scammer I think because, why is there NOTHING in his online ebay shop now?
