Domino's - do they respond to complaints?

My son ordered 5 pizzas for our dinner over a month ago (from Bass Hill) They were dry had hardly any sauce,he posted his feedback after got home,he was happy with his but he would be happy with cardboard as long it had pizza topping on it. I posted my own feedback waited for a response then posted another days later,no response, rang the 1800 805 888 number left a message,no response rang them again still had no response .So I wondered do they respond to complaints. We always have been happy with our pizzas from there but it wasn't so this time

  • Ring the store directly. I have when they have mucked up an order and it seems to be a case of getting a "credit" for pizzas.

    Hope this helps

just got a phone from the manager of Bass Hill said he has been away for a few weeks and offered to give us a couple of free pizzas

    • That's what they should be doing.

The last time I ordered from Domino's, I received a pizza with BBQ sauce (instead of regular tomato sauce as I selected from their online website). I called up and they initially said "Sorry" and that was it. I asked them if I could be compensated or come back and get the correct pizza I ordered, to which they replied "best we could do is a free garlic bread". Pretty shonky customer service. It wasn't until I pushed them further that they offered a "free" pizza as a replacement.

      • Hope they didnt add any unwanted extras in your pizza!

I ordered 2 pizza's from Mawson Lakes, long story short they were bland…
It took 3 months and many emails to get a code for 2 pizzas (which I used with the nottage hill wine promo)- the manager wasn't too happy!

      Damn, that's dedication. True Ozbargainer.

      • I call it tightarse

  • I had an order that took longer than an hour to turn up (past the time it was meant to be delivered)..i complained to the store n they did nothing about it. The guy who turned up was a jerk too - no apologies or anything.

Am I the only one here who would be wary of eating free food that's reluctantly given after making a complaint?

What could you possibly complain about - you know what you're going to get - crap pizza for next to nix.
We moved on to Pizza Capers ages ago.

Pizza Hut, Dominos and Eagle Boys all raced each other to be the cheapest, and finally reached the bottom.
    It's fast fodder.

  • I have moved to Pizza Capers too, although they are not immune to bad pizza. One order I got was so skimpy on toppings and the edge was 4cm wide in most places.

Dare I say it dominos would have been a better choice, and I told them that too.

They did offer a free pizza which was much better, and the order had a note on it saying it was because of a complaint.

So no problems there, although perhaps its because I sent pictures of my "naked" pizza :)

Gotta say, as an ex delivery driver, there's a lot of people that try and rort the pizza complaint system. This doesn't help the genuine cases.

When a big storm hits or there is a huge football game some people ring knowing there will be a delay.

My favorite was to try and spot the dudes with a stopwatch and hope they greeted me with the ole 'your late there's no way I want that anymore'. As soon as I heard that I would give a quick 'OK' and hightail and leave them with no dinner. Their faces were classic.

    Some examples,
I copped it once for being a couple of minutes late when I knocked on the door in the middle of a massive hail storm.
A fellow driver was told off for being late , while he stood bleeding after being attacked by a dog.
Best time I was late was to a house invasion were someone had forced their way into someone's house and ordered Pizza, they gave up and left b4 I got there.

    • You make a fair point. It's hard for Dominos to sift through the non-genuine complaints. That's the risk when ordering delivery. Just like when you buy things online, you can't expect a company to give you a refund based on a whim unless you can take a picture and provide proof.

Cardboard with a bit of topping? Sounds like you got a normal Domino's pizza.

Its really hard to stuff up a fast food pizza order and make it taste bad.

Yes they can get the toppings wrong, not put the right amount, but generally this will taste similar and has nothing to do with your pizza tasting bad.

The only real complaints are that they didn't put what you asked for on the pizza.

What is more likely is you want your $6 dominos pizza to taste like a $20 Pizza capers pizza.

    Gotta love unreasonable people.
