Unlimited mobile like Redbull Kogan etc

HI,

with red bull going under and kogan now having the 400mb a day data as a condition, is anyone aware of any other place to get an unlimted deal like these? i was going to go with kogan, but i know that a few of my apps are over a gig, so to download would go over that and risk the 'excess usuage'

i suppose i could you use wifi from somewhere, but it wasnt what i wanted.

any other deals out there?

cheers

I believe Aldi Mobile is the alternative in this case having 5GB.
    Their T&C's don't state anything about a 400 per/day limit

    • I've been using Aldi mobile for 2 months now, great reception quality (Telstra network - big difference even when compared to Optus in Melb CBD), website is OK.

Only problem was that was slight delay in activation when transferring my old number from LC. As long as you don't need to call their help centre, you should be fine. I guess it will be the case for all cheap unlimited plan like kogan & red bull etc.

      • Thanks for that. I am currently on Vaya (Optus) network and contemplating whether to change to aldi…
Some areas of Sydney on Vaya/Optus seem to have poor data coverage? Gets really annoying, I guess Telstra would be better.

How long did it take to port your number over to Aldi?

        • my number was half ported from Vodafone within 30mins, 4 hours to fully port. Was a little annoying

        • Mine was over 2 days, but that was more into my mistake, so might not be relevant to you.

Long story short, tried to port 2 numbers in one go. One of them, I put wrong previous owner name, then the new SIM was 'locked'. Had to unlock it by calling them. After almost an hour wait on the phone, finally someone attended to the problem and it was all good in 2 days.

So as long as you be careful when entering details and only activate 1 number under your name, you should be fine with their online activation system. I think I read somewhere in whirlpool that once you go 2 or more numbers under the same name, they will ask you copy of ID.

But yeah, after that it's smooth sailing. Even their auto recharge system works fine in the last 2 months.

          Good luck.

        • I just ported over to Aldi yesterday. Was done in about 1 hour. :)
Really seeing an improvement in reception compared with Vaya (Optus). Happy with the move :)

  • thanks ill check them out

    • Boost, they're actually Telstra owned and use the entire NextG network as opposed to ALDI and Kogan.

  • damn them all.. i was super keen on the 1 year setup
