I've found a tub of creatine monohydrate in my cupboard. It's about half used. It has a use by date on the bottom, 12 may 2012. Does creatine actually have a use by? If I still used it, would it work and be effective?

Should be fine provided it's been stored dry and reasonably cool.
It will be a Best Before date, not a Use By.
Chemically it's stable, so wont degrade over time and biologically it's effectively pure sugar, so provided there isn't a lot of moisture, nothing will grow in it.
Go for it mate. I've used older stuff just fine :-)
