Ex-Display/Floor stock kitchen appliances, laundry, sinks/taps, etc

Hi all,

I'm a long time member of OzBargain. I've been doing a lot of watching and not so much posting, but I have an opportunity to list some bargains and just wanted to get people's take on it before I do.

I recently started working for a bricks and mortar appliance retailer in VIC, which at this stage, shall remain nameless. It's not one of the big national companies, but I don't want to name them as I'm not sure what their policy would be on doing this.

In the showroom I work in, displays are constantly changing, so ex-display models get sold off cheaply, however the only way to find these bargains is to walk in to the store and spot them. We sell of everything from Chef to Gaggenau, and depending on the individual product, savings can be HUGE.

My question is this: Would the ozbargain community be interested in me posting the models and prices, and if you were interested in any of the available items, you could PM me with your mobile number and I could call you to discuss? As I said above, I'm not too sure about the company's policy on doing this, but it would mean good deals for you, and a possible increase in sales for me (as I said, I'm new to the industry).

I do read a lot of comments on this site regularly, and do appreciate people's opinions. I look forward to reading some responses. Thanks.

Thanks for the offer. Can you give an example product and price? Can you name the approximate area where the shop is (suburb or region of Victoria)?

Of course, the OZB community is always interested in you posting bargains! :)

You'd just need to manage expectations upfront and make sure you provide detail ie:
    * Products are VIC only
    * Extremely limited in quantity (exact qty would be preferable).
    * If products are limited to specific stores, you will want to specify that as well
    * If you're able to ship the product, specifying courier costs is very helpful
    * Call out the warranty (if any), particularly as they are Ex-demo/display

You may not get many upvotes due to the limited availability, but I'm sure those in the market for your bargains would be very appreciative!

  • Thanks for the replies. The showroom I'm in is in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, so all orders would be VIC only. Delivery can be arranged to most areas of VIC, although the price can vary for regional areas.

All products I would be able to offer would be one only from my showroom, although could be picked up from a couple of other places.

All warranties would be full manufacturers warranty as if the product was new. Optional extended warranty is also available.

Some examples are Smeg ovens 50% off RRP, heavily discounted Gaggenau ovens, steamers, cooktops, Bosch dishwashers, Hoover washing machines, Blanco sinks, Saeco coffee machines, the list goes on.

I'm not chasing upvotes, just hoping to get a pat on the back from my new employers by clearing out some display stock, and to give back to the OzBargain community that has given me so much.

If people are interested, I will compile a list and post it here in a few days.

  • What is available in dishwashers?

OK, below is the very extensive list of what is currently available. Please note the following - VIC only, delivery to most areas is $45 but can be arranged to anywhere else in the state for a variable price depending on location, they can be picked up from a couple of different locations, they can be viewed in my showroom, all items are ex-display except where mentioned and are therefore subject to availability, all items are one only except where mentioned, all items come with standard manufacturer's warranty except where mentioned.

If you require further information about any items, please PM me. I can PM you back, or call you if you provide a contact number. I do not wish to advertise the location or the company on a public forum for the reasons mentioned in the original post.

Please note the the links provoded are not all directly to manufacturer's websites as some models are discontinued and no longer advertised by them.

Wow solid effort man, just a tip might want to change the location of where you host the file, maybe dropbox etc. Easily deduced/found your name, incase you get fired etc.

      • Thanks for the feedback.

There is now a new, updated file, with price changes and additions:

If these sales are not legitimately through the company with tax invoices etc for warranty purposes, I am DEFINITELY OUT. Sounds a bit immoral if you are not notifying the company? Would have thought more sales = better for a company and they would love to advertise.

Suggest you speak to your manager and raise the idea, maybe you would get some kudos and more (assuming) commission as a result?

Btw recommend everyone do the normal ozbargain due diligence, I found a lot of brand new items for cheaper/~same price elsewhere

Couldn't agree more, not knocking timmyb but it does seem a bit shady.

And beatlock, seeing as you are one of the only people online at the moment I was wondering if you could help me out.

Got mine just in time :).

I just signed up to this site and want to submit a sale but have a 24 hour limit and some of the best deals will expire by then. I'm not sure how you have to lay it out but here are some details if you'd be willing to do it :)

Big Sale at www.gamingdragons.com/summer-sale July 8 to July 22. PC games but going at sweet prices. GTA IV $10, Skyrim Legendary Edition $36, complete Bioshock collection $35 and they have a poll for what other specials they could do.

      Thanks :)

    • I can certainly understand where you're coming from. All sales will be through the company with tax invoice. The only reason I'm keeping the company name out of it is because I'm not sure whether posting here breaches any of their social media rules. I'm just trying to help increase my sales as well as get some kudos for clearing out the stuff off the floor. As for prices, I haven't investigated any, but I'm sure there will be better prices online. If there's something you're interested in, let me know and I'll get a better price.
