What Mop Should I Buy?

Dear people,

I am looking for a mop that is able to handle and clean my glossy tiles in my entire house. I bought some microfibre mop that has a squeeze feature a while ago, but it doesn't seem to do the job well. I really have to ensure the floors are completely dry after I mop, I can't leave it dry by themselves or it will leave some watery marks. So, I have to dry them again manually using other clothes.

I don't think this is effective, so I am thinking if this is something wrong with the mop? or the cleaning products that I used. I tried various methods: hot water, etc but still the same result. Any recommendation on what I should do? I am thinking to buy a new mop, but which one? Some mention steam mop. Should I get that instead?

Many thanks.

Can't advise on a specific brand, but make sure you can easily source replacement heads. My local woolies doesn't sell the replacement heads for the mop i have (although it does sell the mop…) so it's been a pain to source the heads.

  • I use a couple of old bath towels instead of a mop. Wet one of the towels in the sink, add a few drops of washing up detergent (not much or the floor will become too soapy and slippery), and wring the towel out. Then throw towel on floor, put one foot on each end and 'walk' the towel around the room to clean the floor. Use the dry towel in the same manner to dry the floor.

  • Something that looks chic, hopefully blue coloured hair as the women love men who make bold choices.
