  • Dodo are no good. Avoid.

(which is not to say anything against the other items in the post)

I have had Dodo prepaid mobile broadband for the last 3 years and have had little trouble. I use the 12 month 250mb bonus on my tablet just for email and occasional browsing. Granted coverage is not the best but when you are always in the suburbs it is better than some free wifi at the local junk food shop.

        • All of the above reports seem to talk about their fixed ADSL service not mobile wireless broadband. I must admit their support staff are annoying, calling me every few months trying to get me on a monthly plan. But being prepaid at $39 (now $19) for 12 months of wireless broadband using less than 250Mb per month, I challenge anyone to find a cheaper prepaid mobile broadband package.

        • that's dodo adsl…

          isn't dodo mobile on optus?

        • Dodo = Optus coverage. Their modem is the same Huawei/ZTE model that all the providers use.
They are cheap because their customer service is cheap and support is limited.

Nothing wrong with them if you understand what you are paying for…

          your message is totally misleading.
Optus as a carrier is like ISPs using cables from Telstra/Optus.
All connection still leads back to their server.
People are not complaining about their coverage, they are complaining about their speed to the internet.
Just like you can get sync at 24Mbps but only download at 5Kbps.

yatangomobile 30day, 3GB data, 1000 SMS, 1000 mins free trial still available. http://www.yatangomobile.com.au/onemonthfree/

    • when I go to sign up for this, it asks me for my sim number on the 2nd sign up page…but i'm signing up for a sim??

      • Oh I got them to fix it I think

And why would I buy an Asha 300 when I can get a Y201 Huawei for $39?

  • i used to use adsl with dodo, had great speed for a while and one day was slow as dialup.
call support endlessly and all they do is ask me to go to their website and download a test file.
of cause always get full speed from their website.
have used dodo broadband also, only get as fast as dialup speed.
very frustrating with their support as they won't admit to any problem.

i pay $26.10 for $250 credit to optus numbers, $250 credit to other numbers and 5GB of data with 45 days of expiry

    • @fredscool
Just ported back today to this Woolies plan…
      (use lots of data)

Will be interesting to see if they offer a 4G version soon,
maybe at a diff price point.

As would seem fit, where a market power positions said tier to "shadow" the presiding king I simply yawn at its prospect.
My pu.rchasing algorithm selects that.best.equipped- ALDI 5G by voice.unmetered x$5 per Aldi G, and were any such 'challenger to Agree : > $2.50Gb-and call it NO (public) interest.

    5GB/30days $19

  • $19 for 5GB data on OPTUS coverage + a ZTE dongle, not too bad. +1.

  • Only issues- @2100(City), evening congested speeds + nil Voice+/international. (-$6 cheaop)

  • Dodo $19.00 is definitely an unbeatable deal. You got choices from 12 month access to internet or 5G 30days or 100 hours in 30 days. Plus you got an UNLOCKED Alcatel Al720 modem.

    • Only this would be un·locked on account of it useless on 2/3 of our mobile networks,
      - "# Modem can only be used with Dodo network"etc - yes? Wouldn't you state that.
      </…honestly.>

But if it Don;t do band 850, ie all others apart optus, sample.
EXPIREDVodafone Mobile Prepaid Broadband with 3GB Data $19 at Woolworths (save $30) 1 year 1 month 26 days ago. This Included K3771 usb.modem, & freely to unlock.
And of course supported "Frequency: UMTS: 850 and 2100Mhz"-

Might mark what had ^been a Genuine offer eg for an isolated precedent.

    • 12 month access to internet or

      It's incl. with aldi 5gb> bolt-on- bonus. 365' PAYU 10.00$ /0.05' (MB), .
= 0.2GB/mo credit, however dubiously beneficial.
