290

This is a Fantastic eBook if your starting or a beginner in Option Trading.

Option trading on earnings reports offers immense profit opportunities, if you know how.
For the first time ever, there’s a comprehensive, evidence-based guide to profiting from these trades.
This guide reflects analysis of the full universe of all equity options contracts traded over 14 years: objective, empirical results based on millions of observations. The authors distill this unique data set into knowledge you can immediately apply to identify trades with high profit potential and low market risk.

Zhou and Shon demonstrate the impact of changes to holding periods, strike prices, expiration months, and other factors. Next, they walk through diverse approaches based on options trades made before, during, and after earnings announcements. Finally, they explore ways to improve profitability by identifying characteristics of securities most likely to support profitable earnings-related trades—even drilling down to specific industries and the impact of analysts’ forecasts.

By trading on corporate earnings, investors can potentially profit in both up and down markets. Moreover, such strategies avoid taking market risk during non-event periods. Now, two leading traders and portfolio managers present detailed, specific, actionable techniques any moderately experienced investor can use to capture these sizable profits.

  • Thanks, good one.

Options trading itself is a LETHAL game. Acvoid thinking reading a few books (EVEN IF they were the BIBLES in the trade) & have successful paper tradings and you'll be OK. Far from it.

Paper trading is just to learn the mechanics, NOT the secrets of being successful in trading any stodck or derivatives like options & futures.

Controlling your emotions (i.e. IRON Self-Disciple) is what make you "win" in trading game.

    Be warned.

    • Good advice for anyone who reads Robert Kiyosaki or Donald Trump and thinks it's very simple.

  • I haven't read the book, but I will now. Thanks OP and Amazon.

Would also like to recommend the book 'Options, Futures and Other Derivatives' by John C. Hull a.k.a. the Derivatives Bible. The book is almost ubiquitously used by universities to educate a generation of business students. I don't think you'll find a bad word about it. (I have nothing to do with that book, other than being a student using it.)

    • +1 great book.

Another good one is "Swaps and financial derivatives" by Satyajit Das.

For those not wanting the theory but the fun, read "Traders, Guns and Money" by Satyajit Das. Awesome read.
