    50Hz Screen Refresh Rate

  • Based on the link, ends today.

    Also, dupe.

  • This is part of the JB 15% OFF TV deal which has already been posted. As I mentioned I have been waiting for mine to arrive since the last sale, its the model above this one. Ask about stock and expect to wait a minimum of 3. Weeks.

    • Not everybody needs to buy online.

The Good Guys has this at normal price $762

This JB 15% off deal is a hoax… they're taking 15% off their RRP, which is just about the price of what their competitors at current price.

    • Yeah like blu-ray they removed all the discounted price and give you 20% off.

Lucky if you can find any discounted label still there.

    • They need to sell it at "RRP" at least some of the time, otherwise they could never say they're offering discounts if that is their everyday price.

This is incorrect with TVs. The good guys adjust their online prices whenever JB has a sale. Don't you think it would be just a bit convenient that their prices are $1 less than JBs sale price? The 15% off JB deals are roughly the amount you would be able to haggle off the ticket price of a tv at some stores.

but the LG 60PH6700 $1358 is still a good deal, 3D,build-in WIFI,60",600Hz refresh rate,etc.. nice plasma TV. Just bought 1 from them. http://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-lcd-led-plasma/lg/60-inch-full-h…

    • Not sure if your suggestion is worth the neg…huge difference in price and size so it's not really fair to compare between the two TVs.

      • -3

oh, I mean there still can find a good deal:)

      But it's plasma… :-(

  • -2

Pretty sure you can get a better LCD for the price. I mean no 3D and only 50hz for $700?

You can hold off if you're set on buying sony, they're most likely going to do the tv + free ps4 deals on launch

  • sort of a dup.

No point negging a deal unless others can still get the same deal too…

  • This TV is apparently the same as the KDL42W653 which is getting rave reviews on AVforums:

Incredibly low lag, great blacks and low motion blur. Just because a TV doesn't have 3D, doesn't mean that it gives a substandard picture, in the case of blacks it's the opposite.

$762 is a great deal. For what it's worth, the goodguys normal price is $889 as shown on their catalogue - RRP is $1049.

    • You want blacks, then go plasma… or hunt down a Pioneer Kuro

      • -5

Pass on plasma. Current LCD/LEDS beat them and are much more durable.

With the OPs post… anything over 32" without 100hz is not worth looking at.

I've had just about enough of misinformed LCD evangelists constantly spouting this bollocks. Read ANY reliable source on digital panels and they ALL agree that only the most expensive LCD panels can get anyway near even a mid-range plasma (such as the Panasonic ST60) in terms of picture quality.

The ONLY reason to get an LCD ahead of a plasma is if you will be viewing in a bright room, if you are concerned about energy usage, if you are such a hardcore gamer that an extra 12-16ms of input lag is going to be an issue for you or if they don't make a plasma in your preferred size.

For everyone else, a plasma is a better choice.

          These are facts.

          Current LCD/LEDS beat them

Hows the grey to grey response time on your LCD?
Has there been a consumer LCD that's stood toe to toe with the near infinite contrast ratio of the Pioneer Kuro released in 2008? Thought so…

LCD's have an inherent flaw in the technology, theres no buts about it. They've tried to match the deeper blacks of plasma's by switching from CCFL backlightiing (LCD) to LED backlighting. They've tried to cure the slow response time by boosting the refresh rate to over 200hz.

LCD/LED isn't the rival of plasma's, OLED and Laser will be.

Just because it's "newer tech" doesn't mean it's better.

        • TBH, anyone who either can't tell the difference or actually preferred LCDs should go that way. Unfortunately for me, I need plasma as I can tell the difference most of the time.
