Comfortable work shoes for a female

Hi, i am looking to get some new work shoes for my wife. I was wondering what brand / type shoes would anyone recommend for her. She is standing up nearly all day as a dental assistant and needs something comfortable. Also needs to be black.

Thanks.

    Depends if she prefers flats/wedge/small heel.
    Naturalizer, Jane Debster, Hush puppies are a few. Expensive-ish but tend to last.
    I purchased a pair of Colorados, and they only lasted 7 mnths before the leather split from the sole.

    Skechers at Amazon are very good and fit your bill

    I got myself some EasySteps from Myer. The most comfortable work shoe i've owned. Also I have some Sandlers and they are good too.

  • The Mississippi River broke through a protective dike today. What is a protective dike? Is it a large woman that says "Don't go near there! But Betty- Don't go near there! Don't go down by the river!"… No, we can't say "dyke" on the air, we can't even say "lesbian" anymore, it's "women in comfortable shoes".

    I had a set of Rivers leather shoes that are super comfy on the feet when standing for ages.

    If she wears pants (they'd look a little funny with a skirt) New Balance do plain black joggers like these;

    I know a couple of nurses who wear them so I presume they may be suitable.

    I saw a few pairs like that in Super Amart today (Kawana) in their 50 styles for $50 sale.

  • Thanks for all the suggestions. After looking around bondi westfield today we checked out all the above suggestions except the new balance and rivers. Seems she's pretty keen on 'ecco' but was also thinking of using some black low profile joggers like the new balance YTW has recommended so i'll pass that on to her but our closest super amart is really far away probably time and petrol (VERY expensive in sydney at the moment) will ruin the savings.

    I bought some steel blue steel caps for myself (female) and they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned.

    I have been in situations where I literally stood most of the time, maybe a couple of steps in either direction, for in excess of 10 hours, without sitting or leaning at all. I love my steel caps. I wear them around the house when I need to get crap done and will likely look for other fun things to do. My steel caps are my magic boots and in them I can do anything.

    • Hi voteoften, i'm glad to hear you're so productive in your magic boots you sound a bit like that maclemore lol :)

      I myself have used steel blue for a long time and think they're the best heavy duty steel capped work boots i've ever worn and cant highly enough recommend them. That being said as for the most comfortable shoes i've ever owned.. that would have to be a tie between camper,ecco and new balance as they all cover different situations. (from a male perspective)
