  thanks for the starthere idea - i ran the same hotel/flight combo via starthere and on another laptop - the one via starthere was $36 more expensive over $2500.

  Given unclear on the cashback amount, timing, etc.. i opted against using it. Not worth the hassle IMHO.

    I just booked a flight Sydney to Bali (had already got cheap Scoot flight back via Singapore) using Jetstar and their price match.

    Virgin's flight was $375 so Jetstar came in at $337 Not fantastic, but still a fair price. It was interesting that doing this also avoided the credit card surcharge.

    There are limited direct flight options. AirAsia was a bit cheaper but its about 8 hours longer via KL

      We ended up with flights costing $650each return with Virgin, about $100 more than the option with AirAsia via KL. Direct from Melbourne to Bali, as opposed to with AirAsia going via KL, and Jetstar going via Sydney to get there on the day we wanted to fly there/back.
