Where Can I Get Cheap Foam to Sleep on While Camping?

Hi. Can people offer any suggestions where I can get foam to sleep on or where I can buy it cheap?

  • clark rubber…

  • Rather pricey the old clark rubber. I'm just looking for an old piece of foam that's comfy to sleep on. The kind that I can dig up from a dumpster or someone would be willing to give away.

  • Go to the back of a carpet store - you'll find rolls of underlay in the dumpster.

Ask at your local op shop. Otherwise just spring for a cheap camping mat. At least they won't come complete with fleas or lice or other nasties.

  • Clark Rubber or (we found ours at) Army Disposals. Special rolled up blue foam stuff; works a treat. Cannot recall how much it was but it certainly wasn't expensive. You could pick up some cardboard sheeting too; that works almost as well… and costs nothing.

  • I remember my hubby doing the very same research a couple of years ago and Clark Rubber actually very expensive! We ended up buying a cheap mattress from Sydney's Lounges and Bedding Melbourne. I can also vouch for the mats from Ray's Tent city… we bought a couple of these for our girls to go camping with the Girl Guides.
