Went to ALDI Villawood this afternoon and found their Crofton case iron cookware is now on sale.
Cast Iron Fry Pan and Griddle that were previously $14.99 are now $7.99.
Their Dutch Oven and Roaster are also on sale but forgot the exact prices.
Heaps of stocks left at the Villawood store.
Bad how?
Griddle's very heavy but does a good job at a ridiculously low price. $7.99 is a steal. Use it for developing your tris, bis and deltoids if you don't like cooking with it.
any insight into whether this is in other stores? seems like a solid bargain.
Markdown on Aldi specials is hugely store-dependent. My local seems very stingy. These are still 14.99. Some specials from 2 months ago are similarly not marked down.
Best to just pop into your local Aldi.

Fry pan is excellent, I purchased it on day dot.
I bought one the day these came out but havent had a chance to use it. What were the seasoning instructions again for these?
No need to season as these are enameled.

Instructions come with the pan. Something like: wash and dry; oil pan (high-smoking oil preferably, ie not butter, marg, olive oil); heat moderately; cool; wipe. Repeat 3 times. Don't wash with detergent or you'll have to redo the seasoning, and don't use cold water on a hot pan!

I got both of these a while back, and I found the fry pan to be really excellent. The griddle on the other hand was kind of bad.
