Philips Electric Shaver RQ1260 $199.95 Half Price + 60 Days Trial Offer (Father's Day Special)

30

Hey Guys

Came across this by random..

More Info : http://www.philips.com.au/c/mens-shaving/sensotouch-3d-ultra…

60 days trial offer: http://www.philips.com.au/e/promo/promotions/personal-care/p…

Was thinking for few months to buy this.. But looks like good price since AUS $$ has gone up and thus shipping from Amazon is more expinsive now.. Local Stock..

I was also thinking of this : http://www.shavershop.com.au/online-store/electric-shavers/e…

RQ1295cc : $299.95 only after cashback from Philips.. http://www.philips.com.au/c/mens-shaving/sensotouch-3d-ultra…

CashBack Details : http://www.shavershop.com.au/Media/docs/131708-Fathers-Day-S…

I am NOT SURE if this cashback can be applied to RQ1260 (Form says RQ1260CC although). If possible I am sure shaver shop would have advertised it..

From Philips Website: http://www.philips.com.au/e/promo/promotions/personal-care/S…

Think both are good deals.. Can anyone recommend between the two?

Either way I think they are good deals!!

Few other deals on www.shavershop.com.au

This is part of Father's Day deals for 2013.

The RQ1260CC has the cleaner and the trimmer head. I would not recommend the cleaner.

I need to use the trimmer head with a weeks or more of growth as my shaver appears to do nothing with "long" hair. The inbuilt clipper (that all RQ1260's have) is useless for this.

You should be able to find a better, dedicated trimmer/clipper for less than $100. But if you have limited powerpoints or space in your bathroom and are a lazy shaver, the RQ1260CC may be worth it to you.

The cleaning fluid costs ~$80 to $150 per year if you change it on schedule. The RQ1260CC comes with both the cleaner and a charging stand. You can use either as your charger, ignore the cleaning fuction and use the money saved on blades.

My shave now takes three minutes with this, and around six if I have to trim first.

    • So do u recommend RQ1260 over RQ1260CC or RQ1295CC?? I don't need a trimmer / clipper… Was just thinking of cleaning station.. Fluids were around $15 on ebay.. but don't know how often do we need to use fluid or how long a bottle lasts?

      • Then I would recommend the RQ1260. You are meant to replace the fluid every month and a bottle holds two fills. I leave my fluid in for around two months.

When researching mine I read that a rinse and towel drying the blades should extend the life of the blades to around 18 months total. I bought the cleaner as it was $50 more with the cleaner and trimmer after cashback (and I didn't do the math about replacement fluid vs new blades).

Sorry for the rubbish grammer and late reply. Shift work and a chest infection :)

  • the cleaning fluid is just pure ethanol, just buy some from the chemist and refill yourself. I have the shaver without the cleaning station. It is a close and comfortable shave. got mine $150 shipped from Amazon

    • How long have you been using ethanol?

Can you see any pit marks on the blades?

Is the ethanol just as clean when you throw it out as when you put it in?

  • Not really a bargain guys! just check on Amazon. $400 original price tag, who on earth will ever spend that kind of money for just a shaver. Check on Philips Sensotouch 1250, 1260 on Amazon, prices will have already been hovering at this level for a long time.

  • I have had a Philishave for a long time. They recommend blade replacements every 12 months. The replacements for this ones (RQ12) are about twice the price as the more conventional Philishave blades (HQ56).

  • If you do a wet shaving (with a shaving foam applied to the face first) the blades will last forever. This shaver is designed for a wet sahaving.

I can vouch for the lower model one. RQ1250. However the real bargain was back A couple of months ago with the click frenzy Target deal + cash back + ING 5%off combo. Bought the RQ1250 for less than $18!
Very smooth close shave. Loving it.

Would never have tried these "I cant believe how much these cost" shavers
if it weren't for the bargain.
