Ops! Forgot I had Groupon vouchers and it's expired... What to do?

Just logged into my Groupon account and saw 2 unused voucher for Korean BBQ worth $74 each! ($148 total)…
What should I do? It expired last year! Is there any way of getting a refund or is it too late.. I think I read that you can't get a refund or anything… So I'm really heartbroken at the moment and couldn't bring myself to read the rest of the T&C…

I admit it's my fault for being careless but what CAN I do? That's $148 down the drain!

I think you know the answer, I know the answer and I've never even bought anything from Groupon.
If it was last year, 8 months have passed.

    Good Luck

    I'd start with Groupon,

Like expired giftcards - nothing you can do I believe. Could ask Groupon nicely, but dont start whinging if they say no.

Sorry to say the answer will be no from Groupon. This is how they make their money, a large portion of these vouchers go unused.

Re gift cards comment above, I think if you approach the seller they will extend it. I have had Westfield do that when my mate misplaced one then found it again. They 'renewed' it for another 30 days so we went and spent it asap.

The % of failures to redeem would form part of their business plan (ie. profits).
I'd say you have buckleys chance.

    • Indeed I have heard that those coupon sites have already estimated some people would not claim their coupon. Over-selling from both coupon sites & the service providers.

      • Yep, people impulse buy then never use them.. great business idea!

Not sure why you're "heartbroken". They've been expired for over 8 months without you knowing or caring. Ignorance is bliss. :-)

And you say that they're "worth" $74 each, meaning you probably didn't pay that much for them anyway.

You paid $74 each, or did you pay around $20 for some thing valued at $74?

Seems like a very expensive Korean BBQ.

No it was actually $74 each… I paid $74 for 1 coupon, it was $200 something value. It was to be used with 4 people.
      Korean BBQ is expensive.

Between this and not being able to book a table within the valid period, I don't know why anyone buys anything from these sites that doesn't come in a box.

  • Yep if it's worth that much then u prob paid $10-$20 for it, learn from it and move on is all u can do

You can try contacting Groupon - they are quite easy to deal with. However there won't be any of that stock left now as too much time has passed. The other alternative is to say that you did redeem the voucher but the items did not arrive. Second solution is naughty but you might get somewhere. I have been trying to find answers for products purchased last september but never arrived. Finally last week Groupon stepped in & have refunded my money- so they are good - with perserverance

For a Korean BBQ? "We ordered our food and have been sitting at this table for 8 months without so much as a glass of water being brought to our table!"
