Hi, family of 4 going to SG for quick overnight stay for early morning next day flight transfer. Anyone got good recommendations at a cheap price? It needs to be cheap as we're only staying for 10 hours.

If you are only staying for 10 hours, I would just freshen up at the transit hotel, I think they charge in few hour blocks.. you can stay at cheap hotels in the city, but the transportation to and fro the airport makes it not worthwhile.
There is plenty to see at the airport, not to mention free wifi everywhere. There are some franchise food places that are not bad on the other side of the airport, meaning you will need to go through customs or you can suck it up and pay the more expensive price inside the departure hall.
The last time I stayed in Singapore, I stayed at the Mercure Roxy, not the cheapest but they had free airport shuttles and their rooms are bigger than the budget ones like Ibis, pretty cheap rate because I had a Accor Platinum membership obtained through OZB. :) I made sure I had plenty of time to catch the next flight and had the famous Singapore Chili Crab for dinner.. yummm..
