DickSmith catalogue - $20 off your first purchase when you shop with our new Android/iTunes app

Got a new Dicksmith catalogue in the mail today.

Plastered across every page it says "$20 off your first purchase when you shop with our new (mobile) app". Min spend $100.

Combined with some of their current 30% discounts there are actually things worth buying!

But wait. There is no Dicksmith mobile app on Google Play or iTunes! If you scan the QR code on the catalogue it says "pub:sicksmith not found".

Dicksmith almost had my money. But they should really have an app before asking people to shop with it.

    • That's interesting, care to share how you got the link? I get this:

Did you find the app for Android?

      • I searched through the iTunes App store to find it. Searched for 'Dick Smith' and that app came up.

And don't have an android phone so i have no idea about the app for android

        • Some phones can't handle certain apps (e.g. older windows phones can't handle Skype, but newer Window Phones can) due to RAM size..

  • +1

What a useless app. It crashes every time I press any button. The only thing I can press without it crashing instantly is the browse icon.

    GG DS.

  • Code to use at checkout is "20". Although the app is THAT buggy it says that it is invalid.

At present, it is IMPOSSIBLE to complete checkout. Keeps throwing errors - the product field in checkout stays empty and when you click to select something, it just returns a black (null) product page.

Managed to create an account and populate it with my details, but none of it carries to the checkout screen…

Interestingly, there is a dummy code populated already at checkout called "staff discount".

  • The android app is now up on Google play.

Can't seem to actually get it to place an order though.

The app is pretty broken - it only lets you have one item per order. Choosing delivery crashes it. It ended up sending 2 separate orders for the 2 items I wanted.

On the plus side I rang them up afterwards and was able to get the $20 discount as well as the current free delivery offer applied.
