SanDisk Cruzer Edge 64GB USB2 $39.80 @ JB Hifi

70

Quite a good price for a B&M store. A quick look has it for $39.49 on eBay.
Difficult to find by searching on the site, easier to google it.

  • Better off paying $10 more for USB 3.0

lol for real? It may be small physically, but it's a 64gb drive. It will take you days to fill with data.

        Hi Bazza,
Let me put it politely… There is almost no size that is too small for USB3. Ever tried to transfer a 1gb file over USB2 v/s USB3? The difference is painful … particularly if you're using a Sandisk Extreme 64gb (ie. the faster version of the cruzer listed).

        • Absolutely agree. For $39 from Flingshot I bought a Lexar 64GB USB 3.0 thumb drive. Over the weekend I transferred 29GB from it to my USB 3.0 Ext HDD and it transferred at 70MB/second.

I later did another transfer from my Kingston Data Traveller 8GB USB 2.0 to my USB 3.0 External HDD and it was transferring at a max of 8.5MB/second.

        • SANDISK EXTREME FTW

… if you want horrible transfer speeds you mean?

  • very nice price.
    thanks OP

my only complain is about the physical design of the stick.
I bought one recenly (lower capacity) and it's annoying to use.

      You didnt find it slow?

    Please do not buy this!

I have a 8gb one and its utter shit, well the design anyway. The connector head pops out when you slide the button forward as it should, BUT when you insert or try to insert it into a port the resistance makes it slide back in rather than docking. Its annoying as you need to hold the button whilst inserting to prevent the connector sliding back in. All in all the worst design ever and very annoying to use.

a few of sandisk designs are like this, the slide feature and they are annoying (especially if you connecting it to the back of a tv or computer

      • Agreed +100

The design if these is complete crap

    • Sweet, thought it was just me who had problems with the slide feature.
