George Dickel Barrel Select Tennessee Whisky 750ml $199.99 FREE DELIVERY AUSTRALIA WIDE

02

At George Dickel Whisky, we've always been true to our name. The same can be said of our newest whisky, George Dickel Barrel Select. Each year, at peak periods of maturation, Master Distiller John Lunn selects approximately 10 barrels of his best, most mellow whisky to produce an exceptionally fine small-batch Tennessee whisky.

Aged between 10–12 years, this 86-proof gem provides a consistently smooth taste, perfect balance, rich amber color and a hint of vanilla. Aided by charcoal mellowing and the slow aging process, these distinct characteristics create a super-premium whisky in a class of its own.

Designed to commemorate the re-opening of the distillery in September 2003, this handcrafted bottle reflects beautiful craftsmanship, from its elegant shape and cork to the unique label design. It's outstanding quality has been honored five times since 2006 by the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, including one Bronze Medal, One Silver Medal and two Gold Medals for Tennessee Whisky.

How much do you sell it for normally?

    • -2

Other retailers are selling this for $250

        I'll rephrase…

How much do you sell it for normally?

        • +2

he sold a bottle for the same price in dec 2012.. dont think he is actually reducing the price

        • That's correct, I have maintained the same price compared to other retailers selling it above $250.

        • -2

My regular price is in fact $199, which is a good deal compared to other retailers.

How is it possible to age it 12 years if the distillery has been open for 10 years?

    • +2

OOoooooh for a min I felt I'm in 2015 already.. Damn.. this time goes so slow… thanks op for showing me a glimpse of 2015. :)

    • and also win awards starting 2006?

It may just be a simple mistake/misunderstanding, but it doesn't add up. Add to it the fact that the price is massively inflated, and I wouldn't say that it is a deal…

    • This might be a question to ask Diageo who are the owners of the distillery.

      • Your selling a product with no research and a heavy amount of inflation. Poor form

  • lol busted

$49 a bottle in US, come back when you have a bargain for us rep!

    • You can't compare alcohol prices to the US simply due to Exchange rates, excise and duties paid in Australia along with GST. On top of this, the product isn't officially imported into this Country.
      Hardly a fair comparison.

      • +3

the product isn't officially imported into this Country.

so you are "unofficially" importing then ?

        • that's correct. We have had to source it through unofficial channels.

        • I guess we got a culprit right here..mate what if I make a complaint to the authority..

        • I think the seller means he didn't purchase from a local distributor. Not that he smuggled it into Australia up his a$$.

No law against parallel importation. So long as the seller declares the alcohol and pays the relevant taxes/duties everything is legit.

So if you made a complaint 'to the authority' what would happen would be nothing. But good for you for being so civic minded. Protecting society from expensive whiskey and all. Lol.

Yes but you would agree that I can compare value for money, right? If this is $49 in the US then for $200 wouldn't a bottle of JW Blue be a much better buy?

        • If you like your American stuff then I don't think you would waste your money on Johnnie Blue. A lot better out there than Johnnie unfortunately.

      • +1

cmon mate… it should not be 4 times the price in US…!!!

    • Good find, says they deliver in WA… bad luck for other states…

      • +1

I think you'll find WA is Washington :P

        • With all the Essendon saga, I must have missed that…

Long road trip for the Cats this week then…

Maybe they can bring back some of this Whisky Duty Free ?

It seems like this site isn't quite following the liquor licensing laws…

    http://www.olgr.nsw.gov.au/liquor_online_sales.asp

    Where is the statement

β€˜It is against the law to sell or supply alcohol to, or to obtain alcohol on behalf of, a person under the age of 18 years.’

    ???

Where do you check the purchaser is 18yo or older ??

    • Proof of age will be requested at the time of sale.

      • +1

What about the mandatory statement ?

"This notice needs to be prominently placed on your website - consider putting it on your home page as well as the actual page where online sales are made."

"If you do not display this notice, you may be liable for an on-the-spot penalty of $220 or a court fine of up to $2,200."

        • Hi,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I have got someone fixing this as we speak.

    • Sold from Victoria (which is to say mandatory statements required in NSW could mean diddly squat).

Online retailers usually require signature of 18yo upon receipt of parcel.

      http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/policies/alcohol.html

Although, why is the licence number in such small print?

      • please refer to my comment above. The print is smaller as it is not part of the item description.
        it is clearly legible though.

        • it is clearly legible though.

maybe on an a 30" monitor, but on my 19" monitor, it is not readable…

The price we pay here for spirits astonishes me. Look up any brand of vodka, whiskey, whatever, you like, and see how much they sell it for in the US.

    • Just alcohol?? Tane anything from as little as an itune song through to a property.. we pay heaps more thsn US

  • Yes but most anything else I want from the US I can buy direct at US prices.

    • lol… a property too?? Can I buy a condo from US and get it delivered here?? Just kidding..:D
