nOoOOO.. i just purchased contact lenses last week.

  • I seem to be stuck on the review & pay screen, something about needing to select a card from my wallet to use, but theres no card payment options or drop-downs to continue from there…

    • Hi sifnot, if you are experiencing any troubles, we have a fantastic customer care team that can help out: call 1800 074 171 or email [email protected]

      • Thanks Jack
It managed to connect to worldpay after a few goes, so all is good.

  • Limited to one free box per order.

so $31+$10 shipping for oasys lenses

still cheap but nothing compared to the $15 from their last two sales

    • Agreed. I think if you have never tried buying contacts online before - it's an offer that might be of interest to give it a go. If you're after more lenses though, our multibox discounts with free shipping are probably going to be more beneficial for you.

      • what are these discounts you speak of?

on Ozbargain, once you put out a bargain, it kinda sets the bar of the level of discount to expect all the time or better

Decent offer from an aussie b&m store venturing online, however, I still can get mine cheaper shipped from Coastal.

And Jack, if I was a shopper that never bought online, I would have presumably done some research first before making that first purchase, and for me, that means I wouldn't hesitate having mine shipped from across the pacific when I realise that shipping in Australia costs more ;)

Hi orbital - just out of interest - what brand do you buy? Do coastalcontact.com ship to you from the US? Have you tried their Aussie store clearlycontacts.com.au?

        • I have used clearly contacts in the past for specs… Their pricing is too good to resist but it is touch and go. I do visit your stores for specs, the service and the ability to see what you get makes up the difference in my opinion.

I agree. I think the future for specs is omni-channel in the purest sense because you can't eliminate the store entirely. As it is our stores are pure "showrooming" as once you choose your specs, they are made offsite and sent to store… so in the future, buy online, pick up in store; or buy in store, sent to your home… so on so fourth. Having the store network plus an online operation feels right for optics.

        • Hi Jack,

Air Optix, I did compare like for like on your site :)

And at the time, I did price clearlycontacts.com.au, however, (un)surprisingly it was still cheaper buying from their non-aussie store

        • Do you find it still works even with the exchange rate to US$? The Aussie$ has dipped recently…
So we're doing $21.75 for 4 or more boxes with FREE shipping. I believe that is better than coastal US or AU…

  • Can you claim from Australian health benefit companies. You cannt claim from clearlycontacts.

Hi abacus. Absolutely. Hopefully in the future Hicaps will wake up to the new world and you'll be able to claim online. Who knows.
      All the best

  • Thanks! I got 3 months of contacts for $39 delivered, when 6 months from Clearly Contacts would have cost $85.98.

Saved about $4, I'm ok with that :)

    • $4? or $40? …. smiles.

      • $4.

3 months vs 6 months supply.

        • Gotcha.

  • "Don't forget - when you buy contacts online with Specsavers, you have access to aftercare in store in any one of our 270 stores around Australia"

Are optometrist type services and stuff really only if you buy online with Specsavers?
In the past I've just made an appointment with the optometrist no matter where I buy my contacts.
I assumed that the bulk-billing for those services cover the costs.

  • if you buy two boxes of different brands, will it be by default that the cheaper one is the one that you will get as the free additional one?

  • Cheaper to buy from the DaySoft - £4.99 per Box of 32 lenses + £0.50 /box delivery, no additional charges. Minimum order 2 boxes.

Orders take about 2 weeks to arrive.

THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF.

Sent me defective products, offered replacement and expedited shipping, on Monday, stuff has still has not arrived.

    MUCH MUCH Cheaper from quicklens.

If you read the fine print they are actually only selling half packets of contact lenses.

I didn't read the fine print, and got ripped off. 1 box containing 3 lenses for $37.

Qucklens are selling the same ones $43 for 6 x contact lenses.

  • Wow. Talk about timing. I decided to buy some contacts after not having worn them for ages. Looked at various options, and managed to be paid for buying them thanks to this offer, and my health fund!

Can't get much cheaper than that ;)
