Bulk Buy Booze Deals??

Hey guys!

Can anyone recommend the best place to get bulk buy booze e.g. standard slabs of beer and cider? Not fussed on brand, as long as it's drinkable by the average person. We're after probably at least 5 slabs of each minimum. I've heard Dan's is usually ok, and someone mentioned Costco. We're trying to stock a small DIY budget wedding ourselves :) Not too long back we got 24 bottles of red/white wine off an online place for about $5/bottle thanks to OzB, so hopefully the resident alcohol aficionados know what direction I should head in!

Thanks very much in advance!

Don't forget to pre-purchase Wish cards (can be used at Dan Murphys) at a 5% discount using your (or someones) Entertainment card / API card etc.

Yep, jason101's tip will save you a bit at Dan's especially if you can get them to price match any specials that Costco has eg: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/113628

Can also check out Grays, sometimes they've got good booze specials and even better if you're able to combine it with the various coupons they offer from time to time.

If you are in an Aldi area check out Aldi. They have online booze now for deliivery as well as pickup. They have lager (think VB or Tooheys style) for $22 a case, Coronita (corona comparable)for $32 a case. Frazer Briggs is a style similar to James Boag $30 a case. Magners Pear Cider $47 12 x 586 mls. That works out to just under $4 for half a litre. They have reasonable wines $2.49-5 a bottle, the pink moscato is really nice $4.99 bottle. Sparkling Cuvee $3.99 a bottle.

    • Q. Why can't I pick up my order from a store?
      A. Store pick up adds complexity and therefore cost to our business. Everything we do at ALDI is designed to reduce unnecessary costs in our business and pass the saving onto you.

      • I meant pick up as in you can go to an Aldi store and buy it. I didnt write it very well though, thanks for clarifying that.

  • Looks at grays for wines. You can buy at $4-5 a bottle delivered when you bid on a case of 12.

  • Thanks very much for the suggestions! I believe we got the wine from Gray's last time for that price, so definitely can add to the recommendation. Totally forgot about Aldi, Bendigo area has two so that'll be handy :)

  • One thing I was thinking of, if you do buy from Dans,or Aldi etc, if there is something wrong with the supply you can deal with it quickly, with less trouble than if you buy from Grays and have to send it back.
