Book two flights through Expedia USA, V Australia confirmed two tickets. Only charged for one ticket on credit card.

Hi everyone

As above, i booked two flights SYD>LAX through expedia.com (USA site). Was $400 cheaper per flight than V Australia direct or expedia.com.au.

Should have been charged around $2400 on my credit card…Expedia USA invoice is $2,188.80 USD. I have only been charged about half of this amount.

I called V Australia and the confirmed i have two tickets booked etc, so i told them i havent been charged enough. They didnt seem to care, and said to contact expedia.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Do i leave it as is and get half price flights? Or is there a risk that the flights will get cancelled if V Austalia figures out I have been undercharged?

    Hmmmm, that's a dilemma. Potential there for crazy cheap flights through their error, also potential for huge holiday-ruining hassles. I'd probably contact them.

    I would think that Expedia might try to charge your card for the difference if they pick up the discrepancy.

    Given you have saved a good fare already, then contacting them would mean that any additional charge will not be a surprise.

    This is what I thought too…i contacted v australia, i honestly told them ive only been charged for half the cost, and they didnt seem to care as it was booked through expedia.

    I only booked the flights on Saturday, so I guess I'll wait till Friday and see if any more charges come through on my credit card. If not, I'll contact expedia USA.

    I'd rather pay full price and know there won't be issues than worry about issues with the flights for the next 6 months!

    Expedia charges the 2nd half after they do some systems confirmation. This has previously happened to my boyfriend. We thought great if he was getting half price, but Expedia did put another charge about a week or so later after booking.

    When you made the booking have you printed out your itinery as that will show your confirmation number etc which you can use to confirm your seats with the airline via the airlines web site

    it happened to me i booked my flights for 2 from broome to denpasar with american site vayama and they charged me half the amount and a week later another half so don't worry wait and your card will be charged again.

      Cool, that's a relief. Good to know it's happened to others…would be good if expedia told you though! At least this means i shouldnt have to ring their call centre :D
