Product for outdoor rust removal

Havn't maintained the outdoor balcony rail and light fittings for years. Reputedly stainless steel but have noticed mottled rust spots like flecks of an inscrutable aflliction spreading to a heart of darkness. I just want my fittings to be white like ivory from the depths of an impenetrable forest, oh the horror, the horror, will all great Neptune's ocean wash this rust clean from my balustrade? No, this my stainless steel fittings will rather the multitudinous seas incarnadine, making the silver one brown!
Any one recommend a product?

    WD-40

    • Unbelievable. Everything looks like new. If it wasn't petroleum based i'd be brushing my teeth with it.

I use scrunched up alfoil that has been dipped in coke (any cola will do) to scrub rust off bicycles I am restoring.

    I kid you not.

  • Generally a soft wire brush will take off rust. If it is VERY light rust even a polish might help.

  • Chemical rust (also known as acid rust). Mainly inorganic acid solution brush (spray), soak the metal surface with corrosion and rust achieve the purpose of a method.
