Best bang for buck Car Fridge?

I'm about to take a camping trip and want something to keep milk and meat cold. Don't want to spend too much if possible any suggestions are gold thanks :-)

  • mate i'd reccomend an engel if they weren't $1000. maybe have a look second hand on gumtree. i would reccomend getting another battery to run it on as my last camping trip we were 3 hours from bum f**k no where with a flat battery thanks to the engel.

    • lol thanks mate.

    • I know the current waecos have a hi med low function that stops the fridge operating when the battery gets to a set voltage. So you shouldnt get stuck but you should also have a second hi amp hour battery to run the fridge as it will kill your normal car battery pretty quick.

  • Techniice fridge,

    • Cheers look at it now :)

  • Look up dreamrider on eBay, 90lt for 500-600 or a 110lt for a grand. Better than Engle/waeko.

They often auction these if you can wait.

    • Cheers, seems about the same price as Techniice 60Ltr. VS 90Ltr Easycool. The easycool has a brushless motor glad you showed me this i was about to jump on a Techniice. That said is there any reviews on this Easycool? Can't see anything online.

  • The EasyCool Polar Express suitably impressed when reviewed in the www.exploroz.com forum:

"The best part that impressed me most was that the MAKI compressor is driven by a DC Brushless motor. This means the motor will last up to 10 times longer than a brushed type motor and is about 15% more efficient. Its very quiet in operation and the compressor also has a soft start"

  • Just an update, fridge is still going strong.
When we don't take it camping its a beer fridge, -4 is perfect temp. Put about 85, it could fit more, stubbies in one side and a dozen bottles of plonk in the other side - perfect for a night or three!

  • Dream rider store is closed though,
Thats the value in shop brands I think

    • That's one bold bump chief!
