  • which one is my card number? the 8 digit or the 16 digit number?

    • +1

the 16 digit number that begins with 6008

      • thanks!

  • +1

Awesome, thanks for the heads-up, OP! :)

  • Also dont forget for those who have more than 1 cardholder on your accounts, sign up each seperate member for extra servings of 500 points.

      • well when they ran the same promo for liquorland and 1st choice i registered all 4 of our cards, and got 2000 points added collectively, as did many other posters here.

        • -8

well when they ran the same promo for liquorland and 1st choice

that does not mean they'll to the same for Target, it's a separate business and they have their own marketing team…

    • If you're already a subscriber, don't forget to unsubscribe and then re-subscribe. Then when you've got your 500 points, don't forget to unsubscribe and then re-subscribe. Then when you've got your 1000 points… OK you get the idea :-P

  • -2

Where does it say you get 500 points ???

  • +1

I don't see any mention of the 500 points - where should I be looking for it?

  • +1

It mentioned this offer in an email I got. I wasn't sure if it was targeted or not so didn't post

    • +1

      it's probably "Targeted" then….

      • +10

        Uh uh; Tarjayed.

        • +4

          Oh My GoK!

        • Omg

  • I aint trying to scam any of you, if you think its a scam just dont sign up. The link I got links to that page for the 500 Bonus points on signup. Can I upload a pic of the link here?

    • -4

I aint trying to scam any of you

So where does it say you get 500 points ???

      • +1

I think we've established that the OP received an email containing the offer and that it's not specified on the sign up page. I suppose the best we can do is register and see if the points are forthcoming. It's Target, so it'll be easy enough opt out of their mailing list, regardless.

        • -3

I think we've established that the OP received an email containing the offer

Why don't they just post the contents of the email then including the T&C's to validate this is a genuine offer?

    • -1

Is it an email or what?

      • It appears to be an email that has only be sent out to some Flybuys members, strongly suggesting it is a targeted offer…

        • +1

          That's very punny jv.

  • And its not a targeted offer. I got a seperatetTargeted offer, offering 800 bonus points spending $80 instore.

    • -3

And its not a targeted offer.

How are you so sure? If it wasn't, you would expect them to clearly state on the website the offer to get more people to sign up…

      • +3

Then just dont sign up. Geez your over complicating this. Just trying to help peeps out with some points. I know its not a targeted offer to me because if you go to the page I linked to from Targets homepage, it is the exact same page that the link Flybuys sent me for it.

        • -3

          Geez your over complicating this.

Why don't you just show us where is says you get 500 points ???

        • +1

I know its not a targeted offer to me because if you go to the page I linked to from Targets homepage, it is the exact same page that the link Flybuys sent me for it.

A targeted offer means that only 'selected' Flybuys numbers will receive the 500 points. What you say in no way verifies that it's not targeted…

The fact that nowhere on the page does it mention you get 500 points is a string indicator that most people signing up will not get the bonus points.

        • I would if I could upload a pic of the link Flybuys sent me that says it. Would you be comfortable if I emailed it to you? Once I click the link it takes me right to the signup page, which like you, I cant see any mention of the 500 points. Doesnt mean its a scam. The 1st choice campaign they ran was the same. Coles owns Flybuys, and the previous liquorland and 1st choice email campaigns were just like this one and all honored the points, why wouldnt this one. You are being way too sceptical.

        • Honestly cant be bothered explaining it to yo any more than I already have. Just dont sign up.

        • Honestly cant be bothered explaining it to yo any more than I already have.

If you're going to bother posting a deal, you should at least go to the effort to demonstrate the deal is real

        • +2

          Doesnt mean its a scam.

I never said it was a scam.

All you did is post a link to sign up for spam…

I have a Flybuys too and did not receive the email, so how are you so sure it's not targeted ???

        • I have no reason to believe its not real. I cant explain it any firther to you, and Ive offered to email you a copy of the link because I cant upload it here and youve not responded to that. So please let others at least enjoy the 500 points without you playing God and casting doubt over my honesty. of what I beleive is a genuine offer.

        • +1

Alt+Print Screen… Then you can even open something basic like Paint… Ctrl+V… Save as bmp or jpg… And upload the pic… Voila!!!

        • +2

Because when the 1st Choice and Liquorland deals were posted here, I was not sent those emails from Flybuys either, but I registered for the "spam" and received the points, and see no reason why I wouldnt for this offer. Seriously youve tired me trying to justify its a real deal.

        • +2

I have no reason to believe its not real.

It's probably only 'real' for those who receive the email…

They're probably doing market research to see how many people sign up for this targeted campaign…

  • +6

Uploaded pic from my email confirming this deal.

    http://imgur.com/Rwpj3mZ

    • +3

THANK YOU, Thats exacty what I wanted to do, but not being computer literate was unable to do so. I have the exact same link. And it does say 500 points maximum as did the previous campaigns for liquorland and 1st choice, but for both occasions when I entered all 4 of our familys flybuys numbers we did get 2000 combined points.

      • +4

…will appear in qualifying members accounts!

    • +6

"You have been specifically selected for this"

What do you think that means ??????????????????

      "and it is not transferable"

      • +9

        Go to bed jv.

    • +1

To qualify for this offer you must spend $30 or more in one transaction after savings and discounts and present your flybuys card at the time of purchase.

      SIGH

      • +2

It also prooves it's only valid if you receive the email…

        This is Not a Bargain…

      • +1

Thats for the targeted offer of spending a certain amount in the store not the 500 bonus email signup points

        • +3

          you definitely cannot read then…

500 points is for 'qualifying' members…

        • +4

piss off. Now your annoying, A qualifying member is any flybuys member that registers.

    • +1

Thank you padman from wasting any more of our time on this!!!

    • You must have got a good offer to only have to spend $30 for the initial reward.

      • +1

pointscrazy the initial targeted offer was 800 points for spending $80 instore. The offer open TO ALL FLYBUYS MEMBERS is 500 points on email signup that requires ZERO spend. Just like the previous offers from 1st choice that I think you originally posted.

        • +1

Sorry. I was trying to reply to the member who posted the terms and conditions image of the email. I got the $80, 800 point offer as well. Thanks for posting the deal. I'm sorry you're getting a hard time.

I posted the Liquorland one, not the 1st choice one.

        • I think hes just deliberately trying to wind me up now.

  • +1

Sorry, but negging it based on the hassle and misrepresentation of the original post!!!

    • +1

      No need to apologise…

    • their is no misrepresentation. JV is refering to T&C for another offer

      • +5

Yes it is… Because if I sign up to this, I will not receive the 500 bonus Flybuys points that you have stated in the title!!!

  • Just curious how much in $ can you get with 500 fly buy points?

    • +1

$10 credit for 2000 points. So 500 points is worth $2.50. Hardly worth all the arguing to be honest.

    • around 50 cents after taking into account the inflated rewards prices…

      • -1

So why continue to be a flybuys member then? So much negativity $2.50 for receiving a spam email. Big deal

        • +5

So why continue to be a flybuys member then?

I use the 50c to buy a Twiggy Stick at Coles

        • +1

          luv it XD

      • +1

Or….if you purchase wisely it can be "worth" somewhat more. I used FlyBuys points this week to effectively get a free $80 perfume at the Target half price fragrance sale.

    • $2.50

  • Thanks, went back and looked at the email from flybuys i got today and saw this offer down the bottom that i must of missed from before.

Also got my offer to spend $30 or more and get 300 bonus points but i don't see me spending that anyway so just deleted the email.

  • +1

I'm up for starting a petition to have jv banned when he has had too much red cordial LOL.

    • Still wont acknowldge he was refering to the wrong T&Cs whilst trying to discredit me.

      • I'll quote you…

"THANK YOU, Thats exacty what I wanted to do"

        • so your not admitting you quoted the wrong T&Cs?

The T&Cs you quoted were the ones marked with ^ That was only for the targeted offer of a certain spend threshold.

The one you conveniently forgot to mention where the ones marked with * which were the actual ones assigned to the 500 point email signup.

YOU QUOTED INCORRECTLY because of your hyperventilation and excitment in your quest to prove me wrong. The only thing you proved is what a dill you are.

        • YOU QUOTED INCORRECTLY

          No, I quoted correctly…

Read it more sloooooowwwwwly…. Then it might make sense to you…

  • I got a targeted offer tonight as well. In my opinion the first part of the email is a targeted offer. The second part of the email in my opinion is a general offer. I could be wrong however so I didn't post this as a deal earlier in the night because I couldn't see confirmaiton on the Target website that it was a general offer. The form does ask for a flybuys number so that could be a good sign.

I checked the url in the email. It's a different url to the regular subscription page but it brings up exactly the same page as the subscription page.

I agree that it sounds like the same deal as the 1st choice offer and the Liquorland offer.

If you happen to be a member of the Enews subsciption list, make sure you unsubscibe first before subscibing using the link.

    • Correct 1st part was targeted, and the 2nd part a signup for 500bonus points a general offer.

        • You admitted the email was targeted…

How can they send out a non-targeted offer with a targeted offer????
How will the non-targeted members ever see it ???

Think about it a little, but don't strain yourself…

        • +1

Flybuys often send out targeted offers with general offers at the bottom of the email. This is how I found out about the Liquorland offer.

        • +2

Its not the first time a targeted and non targeted offer has been sent out. The liquorland offer was exactly the same.

        • Flybuys often send out targeted offers with general offers

T&C's clearly show that 500 points is for 'qualifying' members…

          It's quite clear…

        • The liquorland offer was exactly the same.

I received that one, but not this one, so obviously this one is not for all Flybuys members…

Its not the first time a targeted and non targeted offer has been sent out.

So how would the non-targeted members know about the non-targeted offer when they don't get the email ???

        • maybe target doesnt like you that much?

        • -1

maybe target doesnt like you that much?

I'm vice president of Gok's Australian fan club…

  • Is it just somehow possible OP, to avoid even more hassle and angst, to publish a pic of your email in its entirety? And/or even just copy and paste the link to the T&Cs from your original email? Thank you!

    • Someone has already posted the pic. It was the exact same one as mine. JV is just trolling and being a deliberate stirer. Its now upto the rest of you if you want the points or not. I regret putting this up. Shoudda just kept it to myself. The only reason I out it up as this is where I heard of the 1st choice and liquorland 500 point signups and I got the points from those deals, and I WAS NOT TARGETED FOR THEM, I never received any emails to sign up to them, yet after reading about them here, I got the points. Was just returning the favour.

      • and here are the words attached to the * for this offer

"*Limit 500 flybuys BONUS POINTS per flybuys membership. flybuys BONUS POINTS collected from this promotion will appear in qualifying members' accounts no later than 4 weeks after details are submitted. Standard flybuys Terms and Conditions apply. Offer valid until 8 September 2013"

        • +1

and here are the words attached to the * for this offer

That is only 'part' of the T&C's, If you post the entire T&C's then you will see just above that it clearly states..

"You have been specifically selected for this and it is not transferable"

          and then it says

"this promotion will appear in qualifying members' accounts"

        • +1

How about we just wait until tomorrow to get an official answer? You can interpret the T&C either way.

  • Please refrain from circular bickering and personal attacks.

I have contacted Flybuys and will find out tomorrow if this deal is applicable to all. I too got an email about the points.

    • +1

      Thanks

      • -3

        You're welcome…

        • That wasnt for you.

        • +6

          That wasnt for you.

I know, the offer is targeted…

        • OK, that's enough. Feel free to argue through PM.

        • +1

That's actually quite a witty retort when you think about it!

    • Any updates Mod?

      • Hey, SweetStella, read this comment

      • Read Neil's post further down.
        ▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼

  • Notice how there is a "^" and a "*". And a Fathers Deal and a Get More Points deal. Guess we still have to wait for a flybuys reponse

  • A little late to the party - or maybe a little early.

I received an email as well. Here is the terms I received.

    Terms and Conditions:

^Offer valid at Target, Target Country and Target Online from 27th August to 2nd September 2013. To qualify for this offer you must spend $30 or more in one transaction after savings and discounts and present your flybuys card at the time of purchase. Offer can be used multiple times during promotional period. Offer excludes gift cards, iTunes, lay-by purchases and payments and ColesMastercard payments. You have been specifically selected for this and it is not transferable. For Target online, points will be earned for orders during the advertised offer dates, excluding service and delivery charges. Points earned during the promotion will be credited to qualifying members accounts within 4 weeks of the promotional end date. This offer has been sent to you by flybuys. flybuys privacy policy applies. Standard flybuys Terms and Conditions apply.

*Limit 500 flybuys BONUS POINTS per flybuys membership. flybuys BONUS POINTS collected from this promotion will appear in qualifying members' accounts no later than 4 weeks after details are submitted. Standard flybuys Terms and Conditions apply. Offer valid until 8 September 2013

This email was sent to XXXXXXX by flybuys.
As at 27 Aug 2013, you have 6,368 points.

Now I know Coles tends to personalise emails, but in this case I CANT see the reference to any

"You have been specifically selected for this and it is not transferable"

except for the 300 points - not the 500 points for email sign up.

So maybe its words that appear in different emails.

BTW on a personal note, thank you to the OP as I would have missed this, initially reading the email I only saw getting 300 points for spending $30

What I do find amusing is all the ranting going on here. Just enter an email address that you dont use that often, if in 4 weeks you dont get the points, then you can unsubscribe. Thats the worst that can happen. Hell its a lot easier than the effort spent by some above complaining about this

    • +1

This email is personalised for you and contains personalised links.

Isn't that personalised? or am I misunderstanding what you mean (which is most properly the case, and if so I'm sorry.)

  • +1

Thanks OP. Previous threads show many are happy to chase the chance of extra points. We have 4 cardholders on our account
I rate the odds as better than winning $10 on lotto.

No poster should get a hard time, it's counter productive.
