Android TV box with WIFI

I've been looking at the Rikomagic MK802IIIS but I really haven't made up my mind.

I value your input. :)

Comment from frondono in other post may be of interest, I am keen on one of these also, but not sure if it has Google Play Store natively.

"i got an mk908 quad core rk3188 and it come loaded with an app called PPTV HD im pretty sure its the same sort of thing. only if i knew how to speak chinese. it looks so cool. here's the link to it. pair it up with a logitech k400r and it works like a dream. faster than my computer and streams HD like nobody's buisness. xbmc compatible blah blah blah it's fricken awesome!"

  • Maybe silly questions for these Android TV box:
    * How do you control it? Does it come with remote? Or through Wireless keyborad and mouse?
    * Does it need external power supply? Or can it use USB power from the TV usb port?

  • can it use USB power from the TV usb port?

Also consider Minix X7. Great reviews.

  • I have the GBox Midnight MX2 box from Amazon. It comes with a remote and I also have a k400r for initial setup as its quicker. I use Plex server on my pc's and have purchased the Plex App in the play store to stream. I stream over Wifi. Only catch with Wifi versus ethernet is that when Plex first loads I have to refresh once to get the list of servers where as ethernet just works, the rest is pretty seamless. I use transcoding over wifi aswell to reduce the bandwith required where as with ethernet I do not need to transcode.

You can get a Piveos? I think its called for around $120 in AU instead of purchasing from o/s

    Hope this helps
