More Free Flybuys Points for Signing up to 1st Choice Liquor, Expiry 31/10/2013

670

The 1st Choice Liquor promotion in conjunction with Flybuys is on again. The new expiry date is 31/10/13. Free 500 flybuys bonus points for accepting 1st Choice Liquor emails.

The following is from the 1st Choice Liquor website.
"Limit 500 flybuys BONUS POINTS per flybuys membership. flybuys BONUS POINTS collected from this promotion will appear in qualifying members’ accounts no later than 4 weeks after details are submitted. Standard flybuys Terms and Conditions apply and are available at flybuys.com.au."

OzBargain members have found creative ways of gaining more than 500 points from this promotion before, but there is no guarantee any of these will work again.

This deal was first promoted on OzBargain just under 6 months ago but the moderators have allowed this post to go ahead.

By the way, the Liquorland deal for 500 free flybuys points has also been extended. The new expiry date is 30/11/13. The moderators have amended my original post on that deal to reflect the new expiry date. It had been about to expire on 31/08/13.

500 flybuys points is worth $2.50 for the majority of redemptions.

do you still need to signup again if you already did previously?

    • It's a bit tricky. Once the initial bonus points came in I unsubscribed using a link in the email I received. I then deleted the email so I don't have my personal unsubscribe link anymore. I'm not sure of any other way to easily unsubscribe from the list, although it's possible there is a way to do this using the 1st choice website. Once you've unsubscribed then feel free to subscribe again. This is my theory anyway. I hope that helps.

    • I found this information on the terms and conditions page on the 1st choice website. Good luck.

"From time to time, we advise customers and those registered with us of upcoming offers and special promotions via email. If you do not wish to receive these offers click the unsubscribe link in your next email or call us on 1800 30 88 33."

  • What is 500points worth? Is it $2.50 per 1000?

    • +3

      500 points is worth $2.50.
      1000 points is worth $5.00.

There are ways of getting a better conversion rate but this is the deal for most of the rewards including flybuy dollars.

      • what are the other ways of getting better conversion?

I had a look at the fuel vouchers but you'd have to buy heaps to get any better

        • +1

You need to purchase more than 50 litres of fuel to make the fuel vouchers work better than 0.5cents per point. For example, you redeem a 10 cent voucher for 1000 points(worth $5 usually). If you purchase 50 litres of petrol that 10 cent voucher converts to a $5 savings at the pump. If you buy more than 50 litres of petrol then the voucher is worth more than $5 of savings.

There is a redemption you can redeem for the Mix line of Coles clothing. This voucher is a 2000 point value for $20 voucher. Usually 2000 points would only get you $10 of flybuy dollars. This voucher can only be used in a certain way and only at stores which carry the Mix Apparel line of clothing.

There is also a redemption to get music downloads. I don't know much about it but I think the conversion rate is better than 0.5cents per point. It's possible it was only an introductory offer however.

From time to time there are other vouchers or redemtions where you can get better than 0.5cents per point but I haven't seen any others lately. I find the higher conversion rewards are a bit too specialised for me but others might like them and be able to take advantage of them.

      $5 per 1000

      • If you got 4 users with flybuy cards all connected to 1, Is it possible to get the extra points for each withholding user?

        • +1

I believe one member was able to get this strategy to work. I think you will need 4 separate email addresses to achieve this result correctly. This is my theory. I have no proof if it will work.

        • I know others have said it has worked, but in past I have only got 1 set of points (same with the monthly Tell Coles survey), where both my partner and I have completed it each with our separate email addresses.

          Worth a try though.

  • It is a possabilty! Genius!

  • website is reeally slow.. ozbargained? edit: seems ok now

  • pointscrazy, was thinking, do I just re enter my details for this, or wouldit be wiser to unsubscribe, then re enter?

    • Also off topic, the 1000 points for tell Coles- they seem to have caught onto the 4000 point grab, and have limited this to a 1000 point maximum per membership, I rang and queried them about this yesterday, as I have received 4000 for 5 months in a row, and they told me its now capped at 1000, when I complained that this was done without notifying me and that for 5 months in a row they honoured it, they agreed to grant me the other 3000 points, on the understanding its now a max of 1000.

      • Ah, thank you for that explanation. I've noticed that for July and August I only got 1000 points, despite the survey being done 4 times for the 4 card holders. At least I know why now! :-)

        • I got multiple payments for July but nothing for August so far.

    • I suggest unsubscribing first.

  • membership and card holders, are they the same

    • No, they can be seen as different.

It is possible to have all adult family members on the one "membership" or "account". You can have up to four cards with different numbers all pooling to the one points total. You nominate one person as the primary card holder and the other members as secondary or additional card holders.

If you want to get more targeted offers, have a separate "membership" or "account" for each adult member of the family. It might take each of you longer to get to your reward target but eventually you will get more bonus points with careful management of the accounts and which card to use each week.

You cannot transfer points between memberships.

  • Do I get the extra points if I use my other 3 cards linked to the same membership account?

    • Some members have been able to achieve this in the past but there is no guarantee that it will work in the future. If you have 3 other email addresses then there is a better chance of getting the exta points.

      • Cheers
