I just did a 'check for updates' from the system tray and a few minutes later a message pops up saying I can upgrade to the 2014 version for free. Just follow the link and enter your details, the new serial number will be in your mail.
This only applies to those who purchased the 2013 version during the last sale which was in the 4th week of July I believe.
If you bought within 30 days (or one month?) of the new release date then you get an upgrade for free. If you have multiple PCs buy the 3 pack upgrade (if you have a previous copy) for $54.99. Its even cheaper if you use US$ at about US$39.99 for a 3 pack. Change the currency on the Cleverbridge order page. The money you save is marginal but it is a saving. Beware, they now have a deluxe version which costs extra but the reviews suggest the extra value may not be worth it for most people.
A bit more info on the "deluxe version". It is actually called a Premium version and it replaces the add-on in previous years called a Plus Pack. I could never figure out what was the benefit for that pack.
Plus Pack would rip out the hardware abstract layer when restoring an image to a different computer.
So you could you could restore one of my images onto your pc.
Activation would still needed on the your pc, and the drivers etc would have to be installed.
I got the email too for the free upgrade.
