I don't know about most of these games but Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is one I would recommend. Old school platforming (with a twist), new school graphics :)

La-Mulana for just over $5 is awesome, cant say no to Metroidvania type games.

  • Eador is to be recommended, a hard core version of HOMM.

And it can be bought here for US$5 with a bunch of other games http://groupees.com/bm9

      • Thanks for that. Was looking at it but thought $10 was a bit much as I may not like it. Buying the bundle now!

Some great games in there for good prices. Always good to support the smaller devs

Akaniero Demon Hunter - why pay $5 when you can get it free….from their official website….

Really defeats the point of paying steam $5 when it's a free game…..

To be fair though, if you do buy it on steam you get a bundle of extra stuff including the ingame currency which you can buy, so it basically evens out if you're a person who micro-transactions slay like monster hotdogs in a food slaying game.

Papers, please is definitely worth it. The epitome of game as art. Metacritic user score of 88. I highly recommmend.

    • Second that, Paper Please is definitely the most interesting game this year.

  • Chiming in to recommend Rogue Legacy - the devs call it a rogue-lite, which basically means that if you die you lose all your items. I see it as a randomised dungeon experience with XP and skilltree rewards everytime you die.

So there's progression, but it's very slow. But fast if you can keep up with its mechanics.

I'm also partial to it because I'm an avid fan of the Souls series.

  • recommmend prison architect, regular updates (1 every month) still in alpha
$17.99 cheaper but about $2-3 than at steam sale
not on the greenlight but still on sale as well
so there could possibly be others out there as well
